I just cut about 4-5 inches of wet hair (so a little more than if I had cut when dry) from all over my head. The longest hair is going to be about shoulder length and then some pretty dramatic layring on up from there!
I saw a way to cut hair online and it worked well for Nora when she butchered her hair last year. So I did basically the same thing. You pick a length and then just cut every layer to the same length. Making lots of little layers (like less than an inch wide all around your head) gives a softer more feathery look, while bigger widths gives a more chunky dramatic look.
I'll have someone take a picture tomorrow.

Just a small town country girl, farmgirl, loggergirl, trying to live her dreams. :)
P.s. I've been playing around with the spelling of my name ( weird I know) and I've decided that I will stick with Hannah for good. Sorry I got you all confused. Hugs!! |

Alee, Wow, you did a great job cutting your hair! Where are those instructions? I was going to cut my hair myself this weekend. Its past my waist and very straight. I wanted to do some layers and lot shorter, about mid back. Been thinking about this for a couple of weeks. Then I want to try some rag rollers and see if I get some curls. My hair grows very fast so if I mess it up it won't take long to grow out.

Lovely haircut, Alee. It must be great to have hair. Mine has grown back to about 3/8" now that my chemo has finished. I think I need a clip over the ears, but that's about all. Your hair is a lovely honey color in that photo.

I found this site last week for long hair. http://www.longhairloom.com/ It's for those that would like to grow their hair long and keep it healthy and strong. Great ideas on how to prevent split ends. My hair tangles horribly (mid back lengh) but since I've started oiling my hair after showering the tangles are no where near as bad and a lot easier to get out. I've been using grape seed oil. I was leary of using oil on my hair as the scalp tends to be oily to begin with but my hair absorbs it right up.

Alee, I love your hair! Very good looking cut! When I got my haircut for my first prom (I wont mention how many years ago! LOL) they gathered my hair on top of my head, secured with a rubber band then took the scissors and cut straight across, voila! Instant layers. The Farrah Fawcett look (OK, now I'm dating myself!). Sounds like what you came up with.

Great Job Alee! I whack at my hair, luckily (and blessed am I) to have naturally thick wavy hair, so I can do quite a bit with it for several months before I have to go in and have it straightened out. Eventually though...It has to be done by someone else. I think when I retire I just may use a #2 on the clippers and wear it REALLY short!! Only the dream cows and chickens on my dream farm will see it anyways!
