Does anyone out there have a few recipes for mac and cheese with a twist?

Would love to try something different at the next holiday gathering that calls for us to bring something.

Crunchy -tasty things on top will be an added bonus

Thanks!

I add different things into mine...

chili and hamburger for chili-mac
seasoned hamburger for cheeseburger mac
green red peppers and corn with a bit of taco seasoning
chili seasoning
a bit of parmesan and italian seasoning
the boys like hot dogs in theirs
cut up smoked sausage

All I can think of off the top of my head

Do what you love, love what you do.

I like goat cheese as one of the cheeses. It gives the mac-n-cheese an extra tang.

I like to use cut up veges and meat in mine. I just use whatever is left over in the fridge. It never tastes the same but is always good. I put the whole mess in a bakin dish and top with whatever I have on hand, crushed crackers, bread crumbs, frenches fried onions, oriental noodles, shredded cheese, whatever. I even did all veges and topped with shredded cheese for the first 20 minutes in the oven, then added a handful of goldfish crackers and put back for another 15. My littlest thought it was a super special dinner just for her. It had her favorite crackers and no meat!

I've made a lobster mac and cheese which is phenomenal, but it's more for a main course meal.

I'm a bit of a mac and cheese purist, but I will try a variety of different cheeses. And that's a nice boost, too.
