Hi Sherrie! I quilt, so I have table runners I have made on my tables. I also place feau pumpkins and fall leaves on the tables and others places in my house. I hang fall wall quilts, and use lots of candles! Happy decorating! Melody farm girl #833 |

Hi girls! I use assorted picks of silk flowers, gourds and berries and create arrangements for them on the mantle, the bookcase, the dining room table, etc. I also like to include a little prayer or inspirational card or poem at each place setting - something that can be read and kept as a keepsake. Candles are always burning this time of year, too. Here are some pics from a couple of years ago, just to give you an idea of what our Thanksgiving table looks like (we also use fabric napkins, but these pics were taken before they were added to the table):

Our big family tradition is driving out to the fairgrounds on Thanksgiving night to take in their Christmas light display and start the Christmas season with a horse-drawn sleigh ride and hot cocoa by the bonfire. They also have a living nativity, visits and pictures with Santa, a great little gift shop, a fudge shop, a nut house, etc. With all the lights, the nip in the air and all the festivities, one is simply immersed in Christmas spirit! It's a wonderful way to top off our Thanksgiving celebration and kick off the Christmas season!

Lovely Nini :)
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here, but I always try to do something small, just for me:) Add a pumpkin here and there, I have a few branches of those orange lantern plants in a white pitcher. Just some small things :)

Nini that's a pretty table. I did add a string of red pepper lights I've had for awhile to the mantle, draping them in front. Adds a nice, almost Christmas touch to the place (not to mention a dash of NM!) I also have a beautiful wall cornicopia that I change flowers to seasonally-now it's loaded with sunflowers,a scarecrow, and a mini crow.

Thanksgiving is the one holiday I wish I had more decor for. I have been trying to add stuff here and there, but so far, my main focus has been the table and linens. I would love to have more garlands, flowers, turkeys and pilgrims to include.

I don't have a lot. I have a traditional table cloth that I love and I always, if at all possible, include fresh flowers. We are trying for simplicity, and so only candle light and the flowers to go on the table...and of course, I have my great aunties favorite thanksgiving apron...

I started a new tradition this year. 25 Days of Thanks. I'm sending my parents, both sets of in-laws, my sister-in-laws, and my hubby a daily email starting on the 1st telling them why I am thankful for them. It's been pretty fun and sometimes funny (I totally blanked out last weekend so my thanks was for their love desptie my lack of follow through). |

We go up to the farm in maine for thanksgiving, would love to have the kids and grandkids up but my grandson plays football thanksgiving, and grandaughter is the drum major for the high school band so they all have to stay in ma for thanksgiving but my husband and I enjoy it anyway, it just becomes a relaxing couple of days we spend there before we winterize it till next year. Lisa - that is such a great idea! I love it! I will have to cut it down to 13 reasons this year, I suppose, but I'm going to do that starting tonight! Thank you! That is just so awesome! - Nini
