What, besides get rid of everything they've gotten into and thoroughly clean my pantry, can I do to get rid of them with out nasty chemicals? I've never had them before. Ick!

They got into my bags of flour, so I'm going to be looking for a better way to store flour and grains than bags....

This is embarrassing, thanks

I store everything in Tupperware just for that reason. The one time I had them I just threw everything out that they were in and sealed everything else up do if they were there and not visible they didn't travel.

I store flour and sugar in the refrigerator. No moths in there.

I would freeze everything hard for a couple (3-5) days after you have gotten rid of the contaminated things.

I misread this and thought you had 'panty' moths!

Merry, that is too funny! lol! I got a giggle, because I'd read it the same way , likely.
I have done a major clean up and will be putting as much as possible in big jars and keeping a better eye out for the little devils. Thanks everyone =)

I had the same problem too. I threw out all the grains we had, killed all the larvae and moths by hand and it seems to have worked. It is really annoying and I hope it doesn't happen again!

Good luck getting rid of yours.

Annika,

They make pheromone traps which you can pick up at a box store such as Lowe's. It uses a moth pheromone to attract the moths, which is encased in a sticky trap. They work very well. NO PESTICIDES. I got rid of a huge infestation in my bird room last year. Also, vacuum up any moths that you see. I now store my flour and all of my foods/cereals in glass or plastic to prevent this.

You'll get rid of them, just be persistent and vacuum them up a couple of times a day and use the traps if you can find them.

Thank you Dawn and Amanda. I will go look for the pheromone traps as a preventative of any further invasions! I keep a pretty clean kitchen, so this was a real surprise and not a good one. I'll just keep everything in glass that I can and hope not to see the flitter of little mothy wings in my kitchen again!

They often ride in on boxes/bags of food. Very common, but still gross!

You can get the moth traps from Drs. Foster and Smith. They have a website, and sell all kinds of pet supplies. I get most of my bird stuff from them.
