I decided to remove the doors of my top kitchen cupboards. I have a turn of the century kitchen with cabinets all the way to the top of the ceiling and now I need an idea of what to display-My style is Swedish Cottage. The rest of the cabinets (uppers) are open with four shelves.

Any ideas of what I can put in the very top shelf?

Cookie jars? Baskets? HELP!

You could use a doiley" edging which you can make yourself or use real doileys or a lace edging. May you could display some pretty tea cups or teapots? I am SO jealous....I love older homes with the high ceilings and those "to the ceiling" tall cupboards. YOu should post pictures...or do you have some on your blog...I forgot to check. I will later....dinner is calling! Keep us posted!

I was just thinking that I would incorporate a doily centered in the middle and draped over the edge. I am a BIG fan of Cobalt Blue and Ironstone Pitchers--might have to head out and do some serious "thrifting" tomorrow to see what I can come up with!

When the cupboards are all done I will post some photos!

Oh, you betcha! Blue and white anything will be a must in your Swedish Cottage! I love blue and white. My small collection started when I was a kid, bought a blue and white Chocolate pot. Can't get enough since! And I have a friend who has a lovely display of white ironstone pitchers. She says most are new and a few old but they blend perfectly. And tea pots are a favorite of mine too. My sister uses the tops of her cabinets to display her canned fruit, they have lovely jewel like tones. Or how about some vintage kitchen tins? Can be cannister sets, cookie jars, spice or coffee tins? Lots of possibilities! Can't wait for the pictures!
