UGGH----

The plumbers just left all three of them-they have been in my basement since noon and it is now six. Street construction which is supposedly going to be finished in November came to a crashing halt right smack in front of my house.

They were trying to connect the main water line with our water line but couldn't because the line from my house kept crumbling apart and leaking EVERYWHERE!

There is a 4 X 4 X 5 feet or so HOLE in my basement floor where they had to jackhammer and dig so they could jam a pipe underground-under the sidewalks and then into a huge hole in my front yard to make the connection with the city line. DH was just coming in for lunch and had to call work to ask if he could stay while they worked on the lines.

My goodness ladies-When it rains at my house it pretty near
FLOODS-

It's going to be so expensive, over $1,500 - a rough guess, but what to do? People have to have water.

Tomorrow the plumbers come back to fill in the hole in my basement and then pour cement-I can't bring myself to even go down there to see the mess.

Thank you dear hearts for letting me vent----
I feel much better now-

Oh Melody- I am so sorry to hear of your plumbing troubles. I know you had said that they have been working on your street for what seems like forever now, but WOW- who knew what a mess it would turn into for you INSIDE your house! I am sorry. I wish you good luck tomorrow when the plumbers come back, I pray for you that they can fix everything and put it all back to normal for you without disturbing you too much further.
Hang in there...
Smiles,
Laurie

Thank you Laurie--Your a sweetheart! It's just so TYPICAL for us--If I weren't so disgusted right now I know I would be laughing about the WHOLE thing (No pun intended!)

I know it is going to be hard for you to go down there but if you DH can't be home to watch them you really should do it. Make sure they do it right I mean. It will be easier to get things sorted out before they leave than after and try to get them back. Hopefully you won't need to but better safe than sorry.

Melody, my heart goes out to you, darlin'...same thing happened to us when a backhoe snapped our water line. We had to use the toilet at the Steak-n-Shake down the road for two days!
