Hello all from the Evergreen State! I was Googling "farmgirls" and found this wonderful website I am the granddaughter of a Vermont farmer and now have a 26-acre farm of my own which is largely hay-producing (1200-1400 bales annually).
I have been married to my gentleman farmer for two years now; it's the second marriage for both of us. His son (who lives in AK) just turned 18 and my four kids are out on their own, so it's just us on the farm along with my eight hens and two roos; four cats; one old black lab; a 22 yr old horse and two cattle. We have a huge vegetable garden that provides for my in-laws as well as for ourselves. Last year I learned how to make jam; this year I've added more fruits to my resume, plus applesauce I'm quasi-retired and love having the time to pursue new interests such as a pottery class at the local community college in the near future.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all, and hopefully some from my neck of the woods!

Hi Jill. Welcome from Eastern Washington! Someday I hope to be able to have some hens myself but right now it's just the cat. I love that you're taking a pottery class. How do you like it? I took a throwing class once and thought it was just entrancing.

I think you'll love it here!
