I'm going to pick scuppernogs this morning at an aunts house. I have made jelly but nothing else. I could make wine although I never made wine from scratch, alway buy the juice from a local supplier. So do you ladies have any other ideas. She told me to bring plenty of buckets, so I am assuming she has a lot of them.

Thanks,
Tina

You make me homesick for Arkansas and my muscadine vines. They always produced a ton of fruit, and the taste is so different from domestic European grapes. Lucky you!

Scuppernongs are my favorite. (for those of you who do not know, scuppernongs are a bronze/white version of a native muscadine grape). The flavor is awesome. I am sure you could make a lovely scuppernong wine!

I like them too! I have two old vines in my yard.. came with the house, but because these and grapes (rasins also) are not good for dogs.. so we just keep cutting them down. It still grows into a lovely bush type of vines. We do not want to really destroy them for.. someday we will be selling this place and might be a good selling point....
Enjoy!

The jelly turned out great! I have 3 quarts of juice that I put in the freezer for another day. I think I will try wine! Anyone have a good recipe?
