I may have an opportunity to run the food concession stand at the local equestrian center for Gymkhanas and other special events about one per month. Does anyone have any experience running a food concession stand? We would be offering hamburgers, hot dogs and maybe tacos and of course sodas and water. We don't currently belong to Price Club or Sam's Club but would consider joining to be able to buy "stuff" in larger quantities. Any suggestions or ideas would really be appreciated!

When I used to help with a concession stand at Baseball games (my dad was a coach) our most popular seller was called "pepper bellies" it was a bag of fritos (the 99cent size) opened up with a ladle full of chili over it and grated cheese on top with a spoon stuck in top...yummy, easy and you can keep the chili hot in a crock pot.

Ha ha, Jenny, that is what we call a 'Walking Taco'. Mmmmm, my high school sold those at lunch!

Sams club is a great place to buy paper products and large quantities of hot dogs, etc. A day-old bakery is the way to go for buns. Also, buy boxes of candy bars at sams Club. They also sell very well. good luck. concession stands are a lot of work, but profits for the benefit is worth it.
