I have always wanted to learn how to speak French-

My dear daughter will be in her 5th year of French and my son Elli will be in his 2nd year beginning this fall.

What's on your bucket list-

I want to have a greenhouse and be able to say I kept all my own seed and started all my own plants. So, I guess I would have to say learning about saving seed and plant requirements and such. I just want to say I can handle the whole circle of food life.

Kinda boring I guess.

You asked so here goes...First up, never dieing at all. Revelation 7:14-17
Second, would be seeing as many of my friends having the same hope. Third, getting to teach as many of my farmfriends the Bible as I can.Matt.24:14, Matt.28:19,20
The rest is just pure gravy!

I have always wanted a small piece of land, 10 acres or so, with a big OLD farmhouse and a nice little barn to keep my horses with me so I don't have to stable them. Almost had the house once but the company moved us. Have the horses now, now I just need to get the land and house.

Experiencing some aspect of Mardi Gras and just visiting that area...also interwoven into the same visit would be going to Avery Island...home of the Tabasco Brand pepper sauce

Going back to Australia, especially the Great Barrier Reef

Visiting Austria to see how Swarovski crystals are made

Visiting the town of Tervuren to see where my beloved dog breed came from and maybe watch some killer sheep herding from something other than a border collie (they seem to get all the press)

someday maintaining a garden to the point of barely having any weeds

finally entering one or two of my jams or jellies into the state fair

Taking a tour of Europe is definitely high on my list! Then probably knitting a sweater and socks. The rest is left for interpretation!

I've been fortunate enough and blessed to have done most of the things I always dreamed of; finished college in Music as an older adult, took the hot air balloon ride, etc... One thing I haven't crossed off of my Bucket List is to own/ or to be owned by 17 cats!!!!
Anna: You are talking my lauguage in your post; Mardi Gras, Avery Island and Tobasco Sauce. I live right down the highway from Avery Island, we never miss a meal without using Tobasco Sauce, and Mardi Gras- well... we love it. If you ever get to visit Lafayette, Louisiana, there is a great Mardi Gras there. And- if you want the old-type Mardi Gras with the horseback riders dressed up looking for chickens, visit Richard, Louisiana.

It is my dream to hike the entire Appalachian Trail, from Georgia to Maine, as a "thru-hiker" (doing it all at once, not segments over time). I read an article in a magazine way back when I was a teenager about a woman who did it, and I've been in love with the idea ever since. It would take about six months!

1) To have enough time and money to own/rent an RV and just spend months and months driving across the United States and Canada with my husband and 2 children.
2) To live in an old, old house, and be more self sufficient, basically live more simply.
3) To transform my entire front yard (where I get full sun) into one big garden, overflowing with vegetables and beautiful flowers.(I'm currently working on this one!)
Smiles,

Oh, can I just add most everyone's list to mine?? I would LOVE to visit the Mediterranean, sit outside a little cafe on a cobblestone street, and eat something really decadent...maybe some soft music in the background...and just be. Maybe have a stunning view of the sea to watch for hours.

There is a common thread here ladies have you noticed?

TRAVEL!!! LAND!!!!

A basic, earthy, natural, and timeless desire to be one with our planet and an inner desire to explore and take in our surroundings---I think that is just AWESOME!

I didn't see one post for FURS, PEARLS, or a boat-load of cash---that just says something wonderful about the ladies on this forum-What a real blessing you all are!

It's funny that you should mention bucket list. My Grandma has recently learned she has lung cancer which spread to the brain (more about it in the prayer section). Without stressing the seriousness of her illness, my aunts asked her what some fun things are that she has always wanted to do. Two things were : go back and visit Maine and fly in a plane again.

One aunt knows of a pilot in our town and approached him the other day at the coffee shop. After explaining the situation he said he would love to take her for a ride! And...get this...free of charge! This is a small two seater plane. Last night she was able to go on the ride of a lifetime...and he even flew to another town to fly above her house and tour the town! How awesome is that!

The reason I mention this is because it stresses to me how we all have these lists but we always think "someday..." Well, one of my dreams is to visit all 50 states. I have a slow start...have only been to about 8 or 9 so far. So I am planning a trip this winter to go through several states. Hopefully to escape the dead of winter here and Iowa and drive to somewhere warmer for a week or two! I hope that this can kick me into gear to realize that our tomorrow is never a sure thing and that we need to live for today!

Cindy...a few years ago I was in the midst of planning a trip to Tuscany with my oldest daughter 27 and my daughter then 15. Never managed it though because I was "downsized" and lost my job---

I would love to return to Italy-I remember bits and pieces when I was 7 and we traveled there on vacation while stationed in Germany.

It must have been a lovely trip for you!

Melody, that's a really good insight I hadn't noticed. We haven't even had the obligatory, "Pay off all my bills," yet, I don't think. Great minds think alike, I suppose!

I blogged my list once: http://theparkwife.blogspot.com/2008/02/my-bucket-list.html
Here are a few if you don't have time to hop over to my blog:
1. Grow old with Big Buckaroo, swinging on the porch of our cabin watching our grandkids play.
2. Raise our boys to be warrior's for Christ.
3. Write more love letters to my husband.
4. Write our love story to be passed down to our grandcildren as an example of what true love and devotion is.
5.See my boys madly in love with the woman that God has chosen for them (and for me to like them). See them get married and have families.
6. And for my Little Buckaroo, fight to have Pluto be recognized as a planet again.

I have a "working" bucket list in progress now. I'm taking as many "quick" courses as I can to satisfy my need for growth and learning. Currently, I'm enrolled in a language course (Italian), in case I EVER fulfill my dream of a trip, like so many of you, to Europe. Also I keep moving (fitness) so my parts don't get rusty before I fulfill my dreams.

My Number 1 is to visit Italy and learn to speak Italian. Something I have wanted to do since i was a toddler . My Great Aunt was a writer and lived in Rome. I still have all the letters that she wrote to me over the years and remember her visits back to the USA

1. Thru hike the Appalachian Trail. I saw an article in Nat Geo when I was a teenager and have been hooked ever since. The Blue Ridge Mts. are my favorite place in the country.

2. Visit my stepsons in the Phillipines. It looks so beautiful. I would love to meet them some day.

3. Have a beehive, some chickens or ducks, and a couple goats.

4. Not have to work outside my home.
