Hi.. i like to do something to help when i make a recommendation..
so i am posting a recommendation, and also trying to help make it a reality..

so i would like to recommend the folks at "Mary Janes Farm Kitchen and Product testing department "( how's that ) to come up with a couple of cookie recipes using the *budget farmgirl mix" especially one for 'hermit bars or cookies' which i think would be a big favorite..

to that end, as for my part, i have found a 'hermit recipe' made with good ingredients (and honey instead of sugar) and have posted it at the kitchen segment of farmgirl connection, asking for help in modifying and refining the ingredients so as to come up with the most chewy, delicious hermits possible.

Hopefully, we can all get some good input and have some good trials, (if the GROUP at MJ thinks this may be a worthwhile thing to do, and perhaps share.

Anyway, for myself, (who is not a baker by instinct), i hope to get some ideas from the forum group at farmgirl connection and begin making trial batches myself.

i am trying to get as much input as possible before i begin, however, as i really do not like making hard as rocks bread..
( i think some birds may have gotten their beaks bent trying to eat some bread i baked once and had to leave out for them !!

looking foreward to hearing from y'all

thank you.
alice

alice .. what a great idea .. i'm fairly new at 'cooking/baking' .. i lived a 'working city girl life' for most of my life .. and there were LOTS of restaurants in my past! not complainin' though .. those were grande times spent over delicious dinners with friends and family .. and NO clean-up for me!

now that i'm a 'retired country girl' .. i am really loving this 'kitchen' thing. (used to use it mostly to 'tea-stain' fabric for my dolls that i make!

being a diabetic . i probably will have to have these yummies in very small portions .. and by the way .. MY SUGGESTION would be to come up with the healthiest alternatives to desserts for diabetics (low carb) using maryjane's products!

xo, frannie

Bless you, Frannie..

that is a very very very good idea...to make the healthiest 'diabetic friendly foods' using Mary Janes products..

i think many of the ( except my sweet cookies) recipes from the new Magazine..( which made me say:YUM!")
would possibly be suitable..
i guess y'all need to monitor everything pretty carefully..carb-wise., and have small portions of that part of the 'nutritional pyramid'..But Mary Janes farm certainly does provide the healthiest, most 'bang for your buck' ingredients ( being organic)..so..should be the best you can consume..nutrition-wise.

hey, thank you for sharing.. and do take care...in your retired, fun and creative farm life adventure

thanks miz alice .. gosh .. if we all (and that ALL would include ME) ate a 'heart-healthy' .. diabetic-healthy foods .. we would all be healthier. I do have sweets from time to time to time to time to time ... but try to balance them with 'insulin'. yep! it's a CARB-COUNTING thingie!

retirement is the only 'sane' life to live .. but the catch is .. ya' gotta' be olde!

xoxo

Just a note here.. There are some recipes coming out for cookies and other sweet treats with MJ'S mix, I got to help test some of them through the winter months before we moved.

The test kitchens have come up with some great and fun things to do with that mix!

you can be oh so smart, or you can be oh so positive. I wasted a lot of time being smart I prefer being positive.
