Hello from Colorado! I'm a new farm girl and am trying to create a "farm" lifestyle at 8,600'. So far, the closest we've been able to come to a farm is a few tomatoes in a pot!! The season's too short and we're so high so I've made do with having squash blossoms in my eggs in the morning rather than the zucchini they're supposed to be! I'm looking forward to finding a ton of inspiration through this site..

Welcome and what you need is a good old fashioned hothouse, I have one made out of throw away slidding glass doors and old aluminum framed windows. It will extend your growing season with plenty of warm air ...

Hello fellow Coloradoan!!! I am also a new farmgirl! (Well, one that lives in the city at least!) I'm in Denver, so that's only 5280ft. I am also SUPER excited about joining the farmgirl sisterhood, I've already started working on earning some merit badges. I'm so empowered now to do all the stuff I've been meaning and wanting to get done!

Welcome from a fellow Colorado Farmgirl! 8600 feet can be a challenge. My friend who lives in Nederland has a small greenhouse and grows wonderful things. The growing season up high is a little restrictive but a little something is better than so something!

Check out the "farmgirls of the Southwest" henhouse many of us Colorado Chicks hang our apron there.
