Here are my sister's and I finished quilts from the red and
white quilt swap. She was in one group and I was in the other. Hope you like them. Can you find your block?

I am so jealous! LOL! My favorite color is red and they both match my home decor so just send them to me...seriously they are just beautiful. I joined the fall swap...my first. Can't wait to get them all. What size are the quilts? So I can figure out where to put them! Did you machine or hand quilt them?

Blessings,

I machine quilted both quilts. The red, white and blue is around 55X75. It was alot of fun putting them together and I made sure my label stated that the blocks came from girls on Mary Jane Farms. Thank you for the kind comments. Now, its time to see others.

Congatulatiaons. Those are well done and beautiful. You've started something very addictive. I've been quilting since 1977. I think you are hooked. Anyone you can teach?

Hi Bonnie,
I have been trying to interest my granddaughter in quilting. I have given up on my daughter.

Wowsers!!!!! What a beautiful result from a swap! I do not really understand how a swap could reap a quilt like that, but it is gorgeous!!!

Hi Debbie,
I am sorry to say I don't know the name of it. My sister currently has my quilt when she gets it back to me I will check whose name is signed on that one so you can contact her and find out.

Debbie, urban chickie made that block. It is just 1/2 square triangles set in a 16 patch block. Does that sound right 16 patch block? As apposed to a 9 patch block. Hope that helps, Barbara

Barbara's right, that's my block and it is made of all 1/2 square triangles. Should be rather easy to just copy I think, without an actual pattern. The particular color arrangement is called "Annie's Choice" in the Better Homes & Gardens book "501 Quilt Blocks." My middle name is Annie and some folk still call me that sometimes....so it just sort of fit lol.

Thanks ladies, I have my sister's quilt and there was no name on that particular
block. Thanks Catherine for identifying it for Debbie. Now can you ladies help me.
Barbara on the scrappy star blocks we made could you tell me who did the scrappy
star in the multi colors and the star that was done in blends of orange with blue
borders? I would like to have the pattern for those.

LOL - I think the later one was mine as well....is it the asymmetrical star? That is taken from a quilt called Stars and Scraps Forever by Judith Hughes Marte of Around The Block Quilt Designs. The pattern appears in a book I got at my public library called Fast, Fun & Fabulous Quilts, edited by Suzanne Nelson. I love the way she set the blocks and she used the same coloring we did. My dad loves that color scheme and I am thinking of making him a quilt with just those stars....

Antoinette I believe that other star is simplefancies - maverick star. She has a sticker with her name on the block is that the one? If you are talking about another one let us know. I'm with you I love to see all the different blocks. Perhaps we need to start including block instructions? So what are your plans for the stars? Barbara
