I know some kids have already started school around the country. My 2 oldest granddaughters start tomorrow, the 12th, in Dade Co. Chloe is 11 and is going to middle school. 6th grade. She is very nervous. I have been talking to her about it. She really needs to find some girl friends. Poor kids has never really had any. She has never lived close to any girls. SO I told her I would ask my farmgirls friends to pray for her.
Coryn, the middle one, is 8 and is going to 3rd grade. She has her best friend right next door and has hung out with her all summer. She has several friends at school so she will be fine. I am more worried about Chloe. I called them both tonight and talked to them and told them I am praying for them.
Then Kansas is 7 and is going in 2nd grade. She will start Monday. She will be fine as long as she can concentrate and not get in trouble. I pray she gets a really good teacher who understands her and doesn't punish her for being kansas.
So here is a place to put your childremn or grandchildrens name to be prayed for during this up coming school year. Kind of like Mom's In Touch. We can just lift them all up in prayer here. Also for the homeshooled kids too. They all need prayer.
Thanks, Kris

Here on Long Island, we dont start school until the day after Labor Day. My son Luke will start his second year in Middle school (7th Grade) and my daughter Juliana will finish her last year in Elementary School (5th Grade), I ask for prayers for both of them that they continue to make good choices in their lives, and that they do not struggle with their math too much this year. I send prayers for all of the children who will begin or who have already started the upcoming school year. Thank you Kristin for posting this topic- its a good one! Smiles, Laurie Farmgirl Sister#1403

You are right, CJ. Teachers needs LOTS of prayer! Your DD will be in my prayers too. Thanks for the reminder.
I talked to Chloe after she got home from school. She loved it! She has signed up for band! She had asked the other day if her mom and Abby had been in band in middle school. They were all 3 years and did great. So she wanted to too. She said she could have signed up for art class but she doesn't need lessons. She said she's already really good at drawing. And she is. But she could always bebefit from some real lessons. Anyway, I am so thankful she had a good day. They all ride busses. So we also need to pray for the bus drivers. And she said she has 8 teachers!
Then Coryn. She said she cried. But she said she always cries the first day. Then she's fine after that. She has a good teacher. And she has friends in her class. Which helps. I don't worry about her as much as Chloe. Middle school is tougher.
And me and Kansas went yesterday to see who her teacher will be. I didn't know there was an open house tonight to meet the teachers. But we got to meet her yesterday. And I am SO happy! She got someone I know and that is so sweet. Betsy Hill. She used to go to our church. She also has little kids. So I hope she will be a good fit for Kansas. My daughter is going to get off early so she can take Kansas to the open house and meet her too.
I am praying this will be a very good school year for eveyone. And that they will all be safe. And the teachers will not lose their minds! Thank you all for praying too. It really does make a big difference.

As a retired teacher, I remember the excitement and stresses of back to school for both kids and teachers. Prayers are definately in order for all those starting back to school; kids, teachers and other school staff, as well as all our homeschooling families! We homeschooled our kids till high school and sometimes reactions of others weren't positive. They need our prayers and support too. Susan

Thanks, Cindy Lou, for all you have done. Being a teacher is hard work. And I really admire all you teachers. And all the homeschool parents too. They need prayers also.
Robin, I will be praying for Nigel. That this new teacher is the right person for him right now. And that he learns all kinds of new fun things and loves going.
Kansas starts tomorrow. I think she's excited to be going back to school. She likes school.
Thanks for all these prayers ya'll.

Kansas had a good day yesterday. She said her teacher is so nice. I am so happy she got this teacher. Mrs. Hill is her name.
Has anyone else's kids started back yet? It is a lot later this year than last. It was the 1st of Aug. last year and the middle this year. They needed to save some money.

Kris: Nice to pray for the kids and the teachers. When I taught in the public, all the teachers would gather before the kids got to school for the first day, and we would all pray. It's nice to see someone else suggesting the prayers. Thanks. Marly

Thanks Marly. Even though we may not have kids or grands in school, it's still good to pray. So thanks. And every prayer helps so much. That's just that much more prayers out there for all those kids.
Katherine, how was your day? I will be praying for you also. You have a tough job. And it seems every year brings more and more changes. I hope these are some good changes.
I talked to Chloe last night. She gets to try out different instruments today in band to see which one fits her. She really wants to play flute. So I am praying she gets that.
And Nigel starts school today! Praying that he has a great fun filled day of learning and getting to know his new classroom and teacher and kids. I pray he makes some good friends today. And praying for mommy too.

Robin, isn't it good to know there are other people praying for your kids and teachers? I am thankful for this.
Monday morning will be here soon. And lots of kids going to school. Busses all over and more cars than normal. Ya'll please remember to lift our kids and grandkids up in prayer for protection and to have a good day. Also for the bus drivers and all those teachers.
If there are any special requests for your kids or grands please post and we will be praying for that. Or if you are a teacher and need special prayer, let us know here.
Hugs and prayers to all of you.

Nigel loves school. I am lucky there. I pray for the little ones who are trying to make sense of this new part of life and any kids who struggle. I also pray the bullies of the world find other useful hobbies. |

I will say a prayer for all the kids, teachers & moms who have kids in school. My sons loved school and have done well for themselves but I find my self now worrying about my grandson and I have one more year before he starts school.
Hope all your days are Sunnydays. dianebcarterhotmailcom.blogspot.com |

Diane, I know what you mean. I worry about all mine. But I pray and know they are all in God's hands each day. Thank you for your prayers.
Robin, I am so glad that Nigel is loving school. That's makes it much better for you knowing that.

Nigel could use some prayers. He was bitten three times by another little boy today. Once near his eye, one on his arm and one on his hand. The other boy is in a special needs class but is older. I think the boy bit him twice a few weeks ago, but when you have a child with autism the story isn't easy to get. At least they aren't in the same class but their playground time overlaps. I need to give the teachers the benefit of trust that they won't let this happen again. They have documented and taken pictures as have we. Just pray that Nigel heals and doesn't let this affect his love of school and of learning and that he isn't bullied anymore.
Thanks everyone. |

Oh Robin, I am so sorry. I hope this doesn't affect him liking school and wanting to go. But if it does you will know why and can get some help. I hope the teachers will watch them closely form now on. Poor little guy. I will be praying that the other boy will leave him alone and that Nigel will have fun at school. Thanks for letting us know, Robin. And please keep us all updated, ok?
Thanks Channah. I bet you've started school by now. I hope you have a great year and learn lots.
Lilly, that's pretty late to start school. We used to start then but now it's the first part of Aug. Then they get all these breaks. Like fall break and spring break. A full week for Thanksgiving anf 2 full weeks for Christmas. If it doesn't snow. Which it usually does that first week in Jan. So we will be in prayer for your schools. too. Anyone in particular?
All mine are doing great so far. Chloe loves middle school. She is in band and will play the clarinet. Coryn is good where she is. And Kansas has a great teacher and is always on blue or green. I think she was on yellow once. They make them walk laps now if they are on red or yellow. Which is a good thing. Better than making them sit inside during recess.

He was much better on Friday. I went to school to sit with him during lunch and recess. The other little bot stayed away. I hope its over. He was quiet on a little down yesterday, but we see Thomas the Train today, so hopefully that will lift his spirits! Kristin, thats awesome when they are enjoying school. makes your lif easier and happier for everyone! |
