Angie, Little Red Caboose, is expecting her first child and I need to get busy making items that they will need. If anyone has any cute bootie or little caps or cocoon patterns they would share with me, I would appreciate it. I have been going through the free patterns on the internet but I would like to get some patterns that I know will be useful and needed and know will work.
We didn't think we would be having anymore grandchildren and just had the two. The oldest is 15 1/2 yo and the youngest was 10 yo and now my youngest daughter that had the 10 year old has a baby boy and now Angie has found out that she is going to have her first baby at age 38 in April of next year. Nana and Papa are pretty thrilled.
I appreciate hearing about the articles you have made and tried out on real babies.
Many blessings your way
Sarita

Hi Sarita, You might want to check out Ravelry at www.ravelry.com. It is an online knitting and crocheting community with thousands and thousands of patterns, many of them free! They have patterns for pretty much anything you can think of! It takes a couple of days to receive your invitation after submitting your request, but really is worth the short wait.
Blessings,
Deborah

Thanks lady for the suggestions. I got a pattern to knit a cocoon for the baby. I think it was a real easy project that Ang will use. I put pictures of it on my blog.

thanks again

Hi Sarita!

I'll try to e-mail you my favorite bootie pattern. It is quite old, but they are "stay on" booties with ribbed cuffs, and everyone I have made them for has loved them.

thanks Luanne, I am going to make some of these booties. I appreciate knowing that they are usable. I don't want to put alots of time making articles that will never be used.

Hi Sarita -

Just make sure you use true baby fingering/sock yarn - some of the stuff they call baby yarn these days is more like a sport weight, and they will come out too big!

Good luck!

Luanne,
thanks for letting me know. i will use the true baby yarn. I am really thinking of using a very fine handspun yarn from my sheep. The baby's mom played a big part in the care of the flock for over a year.
Thanks again

Hi Sarita -

That yarn sounds great - hope they come out OK for you. Maybe you can post a picture for us when they are finished!
