I got this recipe here last year, giving credit to Sue, Farmgirl #656.
This is a very easy recipe for apple butter. 3 qts peeled apples, sliced thin 1/2 cup water Place in crockpot on high all day, then add: 2 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 tsp ground cloves 2 tsp ground cinnamon Cook on low for about 4 hours. Stir, place in hot jars and seal Note: if apples are still too chunky, use mixer to break it down into a nice texture. Make sure its still bubbling when you put it in your jars, can and seal.
I cooked mine qute a bit less and it came out fine. I did it on high for 2 hours and then on low for one hour. It may depend on the type of apples.

I can't wait to try this! I wanted to try and hold out until the fall, but I just don't think I can wait one more day!
