Hi, there. It's a whole lot easier at 1 month than, say, 18 months, when the child is mobile and tests the "No" word!
Take lots of diapers and wipes. If you are nursing, you don't have to worry about food. The baby can't even roll over yet, so you don't have to worry about the campfire. Always great for a few heart-stopping moments with a toddler!
We commercial fished in Alaska for years and my daughter went up there at 3 months old. My husband made a "bed" out of a big cardboard box that fit on the back rack of the 3-wheeler and there she lay, all bundled up, while I picked fish. She's now 21.
Oh--and baby-appropriate bug dope and sunscreen.
My parents took me on the family moose hunt in Alaska when I was 5 months old. Mom tells me that I was their sleeping bag warmer. And that I would scoot out of the bag during the night and Dad would grab my heels and pull me back in.
Relax--it won't be as difficult as you anticipate.
