My original post was me being petty and feeling sorry for myself. I am ashamed that I even allowed those feelings to take me over. Our family has been slapped yet again. Yesterday just after lunch my sister's husband had a massive stroke. He is breathing but that is about it. He can not speak and has no mental connection to the world around him. He is very young (62). Please pray for my sister that she will have the strength to handle whatever comes her way. She is scared to death right now. They have no insurance and make too much money to qualify for any assistance but not enough money to take care of something like this. Begin each morning with a song in your heart. |

Victoria, I am SO sorry that you've been given the majority of the burden to bear. That's just not fair and it has to be exhausting for you. (((HUGS))) I hope your siblings will realize the need for their help soon.
Father God, I pray for Victoria tonight who is laying down her life and her desires to care for her father and his needs right now. I pray that You will pour out many blessings on her for acting so selflessly and giving without much help from her siblings. Give her strength, Lord, but at the same time, help her to REST in Your peace knowing that Your burden is light. Let her lay this situation and all of it's frustrations at your feet and trust You to make it all happen when she can't. You said in your Word (to Paul, but yet to everyone who trusts in You), "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." Let it be in her weakness and inability to do it all herself that YOU will be made strong, Lord, and You will have the power to work. You are a good God, and we farmgirl sisters ask that you will care for our sister, Victoria, who is tired and frustrated. Take away her cares and give her perfect peace. Let her sleep well tonight with no headaches or heartburn and may she wake in the morning with a lightness on her shoulders and a joy in her heart and a smile on her face, knowing that You are her strong tower! In Jesus' powerful name we ask You, AMEN!

Victoria- I read your earlier post and I feel for you. I just got done talking with a gal whose situation is very similar to yours. She moved away to study medicine and when she came home after a couple years she found her mom dying of malnourishment even though she had two families living in town with her. It makes my heart sad that some people rely on others memebers of the family and don't make the effort. I hope that things get better and soon! *hugs*

Thank you ladies. I think it was just the extended stress that caused me to snap for a moment. I would do anything for my parents and sometimes I get angry that everyone does not feel the same. I shouldn't expect them to. Everyone is different. My husband agrees with you Teresa but honestly it would be the same situation that Alee spoke of, if I demanded it it still would not happen and if I didn't do it (to try to prove a point that I expected them to do it) it just wouldn't get done. So as long as they are alive I will keep doing. Actually, as much as both my parents have done for me no matter what I do I could never repay them. My dad is the kind of dad that if you were 4 states away and you called him in the middle of the night needing his help he would be there by morning.

I understand a little bit of where you're coming from. Praying that you won't grow weary in well-doing. Praying for strength and wisdom for you daily. I sure know I need a good helping every morning.

Victoria I do pray that you will find the peace and love in the Lord. You also need your rest and only through him will you find that. Remember he is there with you at all times. I took care of my father 5 years before passing. He had cancer and at first it was basically running to appointments everyday. Toward the end it was everyday all day. But I wouldn't have done it any other way. It's hard and it wares you down. But rest asured that you will have peace in your heart that you are there for them. Praying that your family sees that you could use some help.
Hugs,Brenda

Victoria - I pray that you will find the strength you need and that others will step up! I know where you are coming from, we take care of both of our mothers with little or no help. I, most of the tome, don't mind, it gives me a sense of purpose!
