I am really enjoying seeing what everyone is reading. I have so many new books that I want to read now.

Here is my reading for this week:

1. Flood - Stephen Baxter: Just like the title says, this book is about a world flood. I am enjoying this book although at times it seems just a little too real.

2. Emile - Rousseau: #25/1001 I'm barely surviving this book. It is so boring! Rousseau's ideas on the best way to educate children.

Please list your reads this week!

This week I'm finishing:

1. Beef: The untold story of how milk, meat and muscle shaped the world. (It has its moments,...not the most interesting read though.)

I'm listening to the audio version of;
2. Sea of Glory by Nathaniel Philbruck Like it!

I'm going to start:
3. How Did You Get this Number? by Sloane Crosley It's supposed to be really funny.

This week:
1. The Secret Life of Bees: I'm hooked on it, it's a good read. Maybe will finish it.
2. Teen Inc.: This kid was adopted by a company when he was born. It's a teen read.
3. Alphas: It's a spin-off series of the New York Times Bestselling series The Clique. Another chick lit teen read.

Oh Cindy...be sure to tell how that one is..I love his books! Haven't read that one yet.
I am reading "Mama Makes Up Her Mind and other dangers of Southern Living" by Bailey White. Very funny! If anyone wants to read it just email me and I will send it off to the first taker. I don't plan to keep it and would love to pass it along..well worth reading...short funny essays about this gal's life and mostly her very very eccentric family.

I just finished reading "The Help", which I highly recommend, and have already passed along to my dear friend.
I am currently reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Don't laugh. I watched "The Half Blood Prince" a few weeks ago, and I'm just dying to know what happens in the "Deathly Hallows". I can't wait for the movie in November, I have to read the entire series now!!

I'm still reading Great Books by David Denby (he returns to Columbia University as an adult and sits in on the Great Books courses there. Still listening to Sarah's Key. Not sure I like the reading, but I'll give it a chance. I'm going to start Same Kind of Different for a local book club. Dianne

I recently read Sarah's Key, it started off kinda slow, but it turned out to be very interesting.
I watched the Secret Lives of bees, it was a very good movie! I picked up a new book at the library
by Clive Cussler called Spartan Gold. He is one of my favorite authors and I really like most of his
books. He usually starts off with a little grain of truth from history, then brings it into modern
times with adventures and suspence!
And thanks to whoever recommended These are my words, I really enjoyed all three of those books!

I am reading "Look Me IN the Eye" my life with Aspergers by John Elder Robison (very interesting and helpful to me as I am pretty sure I am dealing with this with youngest son who was diagonosed as ADD before we adopted him. I have always been confused since alot of the stuff didn't fit with him...and more of the aspergers stuff does)
and just bought The Lacuna by B. Kingsolver finally...can't wait to read that one.
Eat Pray Love and the Mitch Albom book are next on my list too.

I am reading All Together in One Place by Jane Kirkpatrick. It ia based on an actual 1852 Oregon Trail event about a wagon train that lost all their men to cholera, and the women went on west. It is part of a sequel so I look forward to the following books.

I'm in the middle of The Convenient Marriage by Georgette Heyer. I just finished going through A Slice Of Organic Life by Sheherazade Goldsmith which has tons of really cool advice, projects and such on how to live a cleaner life, plus the chickens on the cover are cute! and I just finished Jane Slayre the other day by Charlotte Brontė & Sherri Browning Erwin it's a spoof of Jane Eyre where Jane is a vampyre hunter and Mr. Rochester ends up a werewolf. It's pretty humorous.

This is on my list to read soon. I usually have at least one student per semester with Asperger's, and I'd like to know more about it.

I just finished Alphas today, so that can go back to the library. Here's what I'm reading:
The Secret Life of Bees and Teen Inc. again
I also just got a package from Aunt Jenny with Mama Makes Up Her Mind, so that'll be on the shelf this week!
