4 state farm show today! My family looks forward to this each year. It is a 2 hr drive to Pittsberg,Ks. from here. 60 acres maybe of row after row of farm related info and equipment. We get there at open and try to be done before heat. lol. Does anyone else out there have a tradition like this?

Sounds like fun! I would love to go. When I was younger and lived in Statesboro, Ga. the fair came every fall. That was a tradition for us. Then I moved and haven't been to a fair like that since. I loved the animal tents.

Have a great time and don't get too hot out there.

For our family it is the Greek Festival. We save and save to have at least $100 and then drive an hour and a half to get there. The girls go with daddy to watch the music while mommy stands in line, usually for an hour or more, to get the cookies. All authentic greek recipes. All handmade. All amazing and only once a year. I buy one of each kind for each person and have them boxed up in each persons own personal box. Then it's off to the mile long lines for lamb sandwiches, roast lanb, stuffed grape leaves, and fried cheese. We spend the whole night yelling 'OOPA!' at everything and eating so many honey puffs we go home sick. The music is great. The food is amazing. And the girls love trying to do the dances with everybody. It's the one festival we go to every year and has so many special memories with it.

Hey when I lived outside of Denver I knew a girl whose mother would make us stuffed grape leaves! I had forgotten that until you mentioned them. They were good.
