I tend to see my fellow farmgirls--who also happen to be horsegirls--when we're learning how to do one another's chores. As anyone knows who has livestock, it's impossible to get away from home unless someone else is willing to come over and do the critter chores in the meantime. This is where good friends come in!
We've all tried the hired-help route and been unhappy with it. Now we swap out choretime between ourselves in order to have backup we can depend on.

I have a good friend here in town who has many more goats than I do and a few chickens and I love to help with her chores. She goes away more than I do, but I know that I can always count on her to help with the goats kidding, any problems I have and she will help me out if we go on vacation too. I can't imagine not having that sort of backup..especially with milking!!!
