I received the most beautiful bookmark from Jill! It is stunning, really Jill, and how appropriate for me. I was a bit flabergasted. Not only do I have chickens but I love chickens and actully went to Michigan State U as a, would you believe, Poultry Science Major! I even have a white Frizzle like the one pictured on the bookmark. I can't possibly use it. I put it on a little shelf I have in my living room! Thank you so much. I love it! Where did you get the beautiful chicken paper to make it?
I am envious of those of you who know how to work with papers/stamps/ink. I will have to learn how to do that. I am a fabric junkie so yours is made of fabric. It went out yesterday so look for it early next week.

Melanie, I am glad you like it, this is fun, I enjoyed making it. I collect a lot of vintage postcards, books, and prints, for some reason I have a lot of chickens, holiday, and sewing prints. I love the colorful one. I have been collecting them for years, glad they will come in handy. I to love fabric, I have a large stash of that also. I use a lot of the fabrics and prints when I make my quilted pillows.

Angie,
Got your bookmark today~ what a very interesting design! It is too cute. It's already in my book, "Christy" from the library...& it works great! Where did you find the pattern? (Sisterhood gals, It uses buttons & a long ribbon connected to the bookmark, which actually sits on the front of the book, so it can be admired!)
Love the linen-y fabric especially...

Ladies,

I am also doing the mail art swap. A lot of the fg post a photo of their received mail art through photobucket so we all get to see a lot of the beautiful mail art. It would be great if some of you could post your bookmarks. I don't know how to do it myself but it is on my to-do list to learn how to, so that I can post pics of my lovely gifts. Just a thought. Anyone want to show photos of their bookmark?

Cassie... I was procrastinating getting up out of the warm bed the other day thinking about what I wanted to make.... came up with that idea out of somewhere! It was totally made up. I do hope you like it.

Thank you debtea2-
I receive the bookmark. I love it. It reminds me of kimono. I love it so much that I want to frame it but it will be shame to hide it.

Jessie - I'm so thrilled you got the bookmark and liked it!! That style stitching is called Chicken Scratch, or Depression Lace, or Hoover Lace, or Gingham Cross Stitch... I kinda like Chicken Scratch! Ladies started doing it during the Depression as a way to pretty-up their gingham aprons, kitchen towels, etc - when that was the only fabric around, they were still doing what they could to make their worlds beautiful! What an inspiration.

Anyway thanks a bunch! I'm peering down the street waiting for our mailman, as you told me you sent mine the same day!! woohoo!! ~TJ

My bookmark arrived yesterday, August 3, and it is beautiful! Thank you, Deborah! It is an origami kimono like the picture posted by njaw09 (Annie), but mine is blue. I will try to post a picture of it. Thank you, again!

Hi Pam-
Your bookmarks have arrived, and they are so beautiful!
A machine embroidered purple lace, looks like a bird in the clouds with a leaf,
very pretty. And the other one looks like layers of hand made paper with a
design in two toned string and some nice leaves. How did you do the leaves?
Thank you so much, Pam, they are little works of art!
