How about sharing your favorite recipes that contain 5 or less ingredients. We went to my brother's house for a 4th celebration last night and my SIL had the best hot potato salad. Here's her recipe.
Hot Potato Salad small boiled new red potatoes chopped green onion pkg bacon bits ranch salad dressing
Mix all together. Use ingredient amounts to your taste. Serve it fresh and warm. |

Pesto Pasta Salad: 3 cups uncooked rotini 16 oz package frozen artichoke hearts 12 oz shrimp (I use precooked frozen Emeril's as no access to fresh & refuse to buy shrimp imported from Indonesia, China etc.) 1/4 cup pesto 1/4 cup sour cream
Cook pasta. During last 3 minutes add shrimp and artichokes. You are basically warming the frozen items not cooking them. Drain and rinse under cool water. In large bowl whisk together pesto and sour cream. Fold in pasta/shrimp/artichokes. Chill.
Version #2:: 3 cups frozen small cheese ravioli 1 red bell pepper, chopped handful kalmata olives 1/4 cup ea. pesto and sour cream
Cook pasta. Drain and rinse under cool water. Toss with remaining ingredients and chill. Alternatively, you can make this with just the ravioli and sour cream/pesto.
The pesto/sour cream combo comes from the Farm Chicks cookbook. I love it soooo much more than the oily Italian dressing versions of pasta salads.

Raspberry Braid from Cookin’ Mamas 1 loaf bread dough (your favorite recipe) or use Rhodes Raspberry jam Cream Cheese Filling (recipe below)
Roll dough out in a greased cookie sheet (I use a small hand held roller) to fill the whole pan. Using a spatula, cut 1" strips down each side, leaving a solid piece in the center (about 4" wide to spread jam and filling onto). Spread cream cheese filling down the middle and cover with raspberry jam (as much as you would like). Roll the end center piece in and begin folding strips over alternating sides until it is all braided. Cover with a towel for 25 mins to rise. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 mins. Let cool a little then put more filling on the top. Enjoy!
Cream Cheese Filling: 8 oz. softened cheese 1 cup powdered sugar 1 tsp vanilla

Good idea for a thread! Peg, The rspberry braid sounds so good but I can't quite picture the directions. Any possibility of a picture the next time you make it?

Peg. I fix the party bread often. I couldn't remember where I got the recipe and considered it an "old family recipe" Was looking through some 15-20 year old Taste of Homes and there it was. So don't matter where we got the recipe, it is the BEST stuff you ever had.

I like to make bacon wrapped chicken. I pound out chicken breasts, fill with chive cream cheese, then roll that up and wrap with bacon. I usually bake at about 350 for a half hour or so. Sometimes I sprinkle paprika on top. Super quick and easy dinner!

The bacon wrapped chicken is right up my fiancee's alley. Think I'll try that one for him next week for supper!
Five ingredients... breakfast burritos!
1: Flour Tortilla 2: Jimmy Dean crumbled mild sausage 3: Cheese scrambled eggs ( I hope that counts for one ingredient!) 4: One slice thick bacon snapped into a few pieces 5: Tablespoon of melted velveeta cheese
Warm tortilla, then stack sausage, eggs, bacon, and cheese on top.

Brandy, I often make that with pepper jack cheese in the middle too. That is one of DH's favorites.

Sweet Chex Mix:
15oz Corn Chex 2C butter 1.5C Karo syrup 1.5C sugar 1tsp vanilla
(optional lightly salted peanuts!)
Spread out a length (2 feet is good) of wax paper or freezer paper.
Measure out the Chex into a large bowl and set aside (if you're putting in peanuts, this is the time to do it!).
Melt butter over med-low heat, and then add in sugar and vanilla.
Slowly bring to a rolling boil. Hold at a steady boil, stirring constantly for 4 minutes.
Pour over Chex in the bowl, and fold until all the Chex look good and coated.
Spread onto wax paper to cool and set.
This is an awesome party treat, Family Night treat, and sometimes I'll make a double batch to put into serving size baggies for the freezer. The kids grab a baggie out of the freezer to stick in their lunch; by the time they eat, it's all thawed and yummy (this works with cookies, too). Since it's a kind of a candy that's the coating, watch the temp and time carefully; if you take it off the burner too soon it will be mushy and gooey. Too long and it will really stick in your teeth! ;D

Sticky Buns
from: http://onegirlskitchenobsession.blogspot.com/
16 to 18 unbaked frozen dinner rolls 1 (3-ounce) package regular butterscotch pudding mix, not instant 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed 1/2 cup pecans, chopped 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, melted
The night before place frozen rolls in well greased Bundt pan. Sprinkle dry pudding mix over rolls. Sprinkle brown sugar over pudding mix. Sprinkle chopped pecans over brown sugar. Pour melted butter over all. To prevent the dough from forming a hard crust while its rising overnight, cover with a damp towel or tightly wrap with plastic wrap. Let rise overnight at room temperature, about 8 to 10 hours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Bake in oven for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Turn pan over onto a serving platter to remove. Serve by pulling apart chunks with forks.
