Due to some heart/blood pressure issues, I need to cut out coffee (caffeine). I only drank 1 cup a day, but relied on it for waking my brain up & frankly, I really like the taste [:|] Is there something that can wake up the brain that's like coffee but without caffeine that someone can recommend? Thanks!

Hi MJ, Sorry to hear about your health issues. What a bummer that you have to cut out coffee. Does this mean that you can't have anything with caffeine like tea & chocolate? Like you, I drink only 1 cup a day & love the taste of it. In my quest to eat healthier, I have found that simply eating a balanced breakfast wakes me up & gives me more energy than a cup of coffee. It can be as simple as a piece of peanut butter toast w/ a piece of fruit & some milk. On days that I don't feel like eating yet, I'll just whip up a glass of chocolate milk. It's whole fat raw milk so it actually sticks with me for a little while in the morning. You might have to experiment to see what works with your body. Good luck with this & I do hope you are quickly able to get the health issues under control. Blessings!

I don't drink coffee but the coffee drinkers in my life have switched to pero, caffix, or a drink made with roasted barley- if you don't like the chicory taste the barley is the way to go. Postum is off the market now. Teechinno makes one that I am told by my husband taste more like fruit cake. It is made with roasted grain, nuts and friuts. There is one made with dandelion roots that I can;t remember the name brand of, but you could roast your own. Hope this helps

Hi Lyn! Thanks for the kind words & advice. Sure hope I don't have to give up chocolate --those are my "vitamins" ;-) Yes, having a healthy breakfast is a great way to start the day!

Thanks, Jane! hmm, I've never heard of those things... I'll have to see if the market carries pero or caffix. Thanks!

Emergen-C is nice, the one with all the B-vitamins (I think all of them have that, but, some have more than others).
