Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the group and wanted to introduce myself; I'm Vicki and I live in a suburb of Seattle on a 2.25 acre veggie farm along with my husband, 2 cats, 2 rabbits, 1 chicken and a Border Collie named Arya (pronounced Are-ee-uh). I found the chat group from reading Mary Jane's book and scouring her web site. My interests are scrapbooking, gardening, pets & photography and I would love to learn to sew & quilt some day.

I would really like to get involved with a chapter in the Seattle area, are any of you out there looking for a new member?

Vicki

Hi Jenny & Leah,

Thanks for the warm welcome! I think this is going to be a lot of fun!

Marysville is just right up the highway from me, depending on how long your boyfriend has been in Iowa that area has really grown! I ususally go through there once every month or so and the traffic is just crazy and it seems like each time I am there a new building has gone up. Give him greetings from Washington for us and tell him the weather has been 80-85 degrees the last couple of days!

I found a chapter in Quilcene so I sent them and email and hope to hear back from them soon.

Thanks again for making me feel welcome!

We visited 3 years ago, but hes been away for about 7yrs now. He moved with his parents to missouri, then i met him in college. But i loved it soooo much out there. It seemed like a place that was growing steadily. Everything is so beautiful out there, i would love to go back and spend more time. Im glad you found a chapter too! Take care!

Hi Diane,

I'm glad that you are starting a new chapter; I think we really need another one! We live in such a populated area that we can only benefit each time a new chapter is born. What types of interests do you have?

Kind Regards,

Vicki

Welcome, Vicki! It's always great to "see" another farmgirl face! It sounds like you have your hands full with everything - a 2.5 acre veggie farm - cool! I think you all will have a wonderful time with your farmgirl chapter. Enjoy!

XOXO, Libbie

Hi Libbie,

Thanks for the nice welcome! This site is fantastic, what a great way to meet and make friends with people that have the same interests thatI do! I had a great weekend; my husband and I took our Border Collie over to our friends farm on the Olympic Peninsula and she went sheep herding. We all had a great time!

Thanks again for the nice welcome!

Hi Vicki,
I am a farmgirl chapter leader here in Quilcene Washington. It is a bit of a drive from seattle with a ferry ride but would love to get to know you. I am still a chapter of one out here on the peninsula and wanting to get a group started but with the price of gas and ferry tickets getting people to come out this way is a challenge.

Hi, Vicki!

Welcome! I'm a really long ways away -- about 300 miles east, near the Idaho border in Spokane Valley.

Your life and place sound great! Any pictures you can share of your border collie? (The sheep herding sounds great!)

I get over to the we(s)t side of the state maybe once a year. My brother and family live near Bonney Lake (Sumner, Tacoma). Maybe someday we can connect.
