Surrounded by moving boxes.....AGGGGGGGHHHHHHH! But headed for our beloved mountain home for good in just one week! Tomorrow is the last day on my job of 8 years....it will be weird to be "between jobs" for a week. But, as the song says "bags are packed, I'm ready to go"....My herbs and tomatoes, arugula and peppers are going with me in big pots for now - next year will be the big garden....and the chickens will wait until next Spring, so won't have to winter over with them this year. Gives us time to build their coop and big fenced area (too many critters in our area looking for a free meal). We also can start our compost piles and get the worm farm going for the garden gold....crocheting my valances for the windows (no curtains, just lacey valances.) Happy, happy, joy, joy....Thanks go to GOD for all His provisions for this.....He has blessed us mightily to be able to do this. Praise to God for His blessings.... off to finish more stuff....doodah, doodah....

There is nothing like living in the mountains. . . you truly feel the change in seasons, feel the strength they offer, not to mention all the abundant wildlife etc. etc. So happy for you!

Hey Kim. That is great! I can feel your happiness. You might have already said this, but what mountains are you moving to?

This may sound silly, but are there mountains in Florida?

Could you be moving to the NC mountains? I only ask because a lot of FL people find their way here.

We are here, we are here, we are here!!!! Working on the house details - painted two of the rooms and we are putting in the flooring - electrician is almost done with everything and we are having the underpinning put in next week. Jeff has to put in the back attic vent tomorrow - builder "forgot"...hope to pass final inspection with county building folks by next week....
Busy with new job too ....got a new heirloom tomato (Mr. Stripey) and two pepper plants....can't find arugula at the nurseries, but will keep looking - left great plants of it in Florida.... my herbs love it here and my one tomato also likes the weather better here....need to cut and dry some of my herbs this week.... I am just so happy!

Still working on the house to get to final inspection - I have to be out of town tomorrow and Thursday to go to a training in KY. We have a lot to do and hope to be finished by Sunday for a Monday inspection - provided the guys can come and finish the underpinning this week. Hubby working on the deck rails and attic vent (which our builder left out) and I have to help when I get back. Have to paint the big pantry area and there is a little electrical work to be finished....can't wait to get finished....but we are here!

I know you will be so glad to get the inspection and get settled. It is a chore to move, but well worth it once everything is done! Blessings,Karen
