In the last few months I've seen my health just go to you-know-where I can't get my stomach to settle and have been throwing up a lot and am having a lot of other issues(Probably TMI so I'll just leave it at that). I don't want to end up in the darn hospital again. But I'm being too sick to leave the house much and I'm frustrated with my poor health. Any good thoughts would be appreciated.

Annika, I'm so sorry to hear that you're dealing with so much illness. Since you've been vomiting so much, you'll want to make sure that you're getting enough water (& electrolytes) into your system to prevent dehydration. I would get some purified water (sold by the gallon jugs for about $1) in case there's something going on with your water system. Also, you might want to check into allergy testing to see if there's something in your diet that's working against you. Ask for a CBC (complete blood count) blood draw done. And lastly, try some probiotic (check the label so it doesn't contain allergens like milk, soy, nuts, etc). The probiotic will build up the healthy bacteria in your gut to help you process & digest your food better & contribute to better gastro health. It's very safe & can be found in health food stores (usually in the refrigerated section)... try to get it in the powder form (like a capsule), so your body can process it better than with a tablet that has added binders. I hope you get to feeling better soon & find a doctor that is knowledgeable. Keeping you in my prayers.

I would go to the hospital if it continues. I was sick back at the end of May and finally went to the ER and found out that I had pneumonia. They can do tests that will show what's wrong and if you have to be hospitalized...I know it's no fun but sometimes it's necessary. Have you seen a doctor who specializes in gastrointestinal medicine? I would make that a priority. Being sick takes a lot out of you and it is very frustrating. i hope you find out what the problem is and get some relief. cindy

Annika, I will be praying for you that you can find out what is causing you to be so sick. That has got to be frustrating not to know.

When I turned 40, it was like all my parts started to go out. I had a hysterectomy, gall bladder ectomomy and I broke my leg. I was wishing that I had taken out the extended warranty. :o) What I have found that helps is to do everything you can to pamper yourself. We, as women, forget to nurture the most important person, ourselves. Even if you don't feel good, do one little thing everyday that make you feel pampered.
I am praying for you and want you to know that the Lord knows how special you are and so do I!!!

I am sorry you are sick. My mother was sick like that and it ended up being her gallbladder. I would defiantly go to the dr and find out why.

Annika, I agree with Jeanna. My Mom had something like that and it was her gallbladder too. They took it out and now she is so much better and can eat a lot more variety. Please look into it and feel better fast.

Annika, I have been sick for the past 18 months and feel your pain. I had months I couldn't even get off the couch except to go to the doctor. I went about 35 doctors. It is soooo frustrating. I finally went to a different ER and was referred to a surgeon. He told me I needed a good ole hysterectomy. That seemed to be the turning point and changed my direction. All my female parts were precancerous. I still have some weird stuff going on, but at least have some sense of normal now. How old are you? Have you ever been tested for celiac sprue? Do some foods set off your vomiting? Is it usually at night? Does your stomach ever hurt really bad? Do you feel like you have the flu most of the time? Are you exhausted? Do you keep a diary of what you eat and how you feel? Gall bladder, celiac sprue, and food allergies all come to mind. I would know, I have had all three and they can make you sicker that you could ever think possible. From experience I can tell you that positive thinking and visualizing getting well helps immensely. I told myself everyday I would get well. I ate well, slept alot, and drank nothing but water for months. It was the toughest thing I ever did, but learned many lessons through the journey. I am not the same person I was 18 months ago. In ways I am glad that I had the time to be enlightened. My faith is stronger, I found out I was much tougher than I ever thought possible, and I am a survivor. If you ever need to just vent feel free to email me and vent all you want. I would love to just listen and give you support. I had two friends and a hubby that supported me through my darkest hours. I am eternally grateful. Take care and hope you turn the corner soon. |
