After years of a sore mouth, I started using plain baking soda to brush my teeth. It's amazing the difference it makes to me. I think I'm very sensitive to flouride.
I didn't like dipping my brush into the baking soda, so I cleaned out a plastic honey bear jar -- the kind that looks like a bear and has a cover with a small hole for pouring the honey. Once the jar dried, I put the baking soda in it, and I know have pourable baking soda that goes on my toothbrush easily. Suzanne
I make my own toothpaste with 1 cup of baking soda, 1/3 cup of glycerin, and 1 teaspoon of peppermint essential oil. I love it, and wouldn't use anything else! That makes more of a paste, and I keep it in little jars (like pimento or baby food jars.)
My mother used baking soda all her life and when she died, she had almost all her teeth and there were in great shape. She never had teeth problems. I think it was the baking soda. I tried to follow that but I have to use only a little bit at a time.
