WOW, my place has to have at least one million wild plums hanging on the trees. I have never seen so many. I have made jelly but I am wondering what else I can do with them. These are small red plums- they look more like large cherries.

Any ideas or recipes would be appreciated. I am also going to look in my back issues of MJF magazines for her plum issue.

I make a wonderful pancake syrup with mine, just double the amount of juice and sugar as for jelly and add 1 pkg. of sure jell. My family loves it! My grandma also made a sauce similiar to rhubarb sauce that was very good, although I have never tried to can it. Good luck.

It makes nice ice cream sauce and can be used in ice cream same as strawberries. I have heard it makes a good cobbler but have never tried it.

Definitely get the Plum Easy issue - there were lots of yummy ideas in that one. Also in the MJF Ideabook there is a recipe for plum butter that sounds fabulous.
