How do you judge if you've had a productive farmgirl day?

When my apron is absolutely filthy! That's when I know I've had a productive farmgirl day.

When I am stanky! And I seem to be that way latley. I think I need stronger deodorant. Yuck!

And the dirty nasty feet from gardening in clogs or barefoot. And my clothes have to be peeled off.

I'm with the dirty feet . . . when I have to SOAK them to get them presentable again!!!
But when there is good old "I worked hard today sweat and grim" . . then I KNOW it was productive.

I'm with Kris and CJ on the dirty feet factor (and my hands too). I'm a flip flop gardener, so you can always tell how much I've been gardening by how black my feet are LOL! I think I need some rubber boots for gardening. But that just wouldn't feel as nice...I don't mind dirt between my toes.

To all you footloose & fancy free farmgirls with dirty feet, I found @ the Family, Farm & Home store rubber garden shoes. They are darling- yellow background w/ red ladybugs all over them. Maybe $10 or $15-can't remember. Wear them in the garden, yard, to walk the dogs in the rain, in the Michigan basement (yuckkkk!). Wore them today to the strawberry u-pick. Hose 'em off or leave 'em on the back porch on a rainy day & they're clean & ready to go, just dry out w/ a rag. My feet stay clean. Only downside, non-breathable rubber = stinky feet when worn for long periods of time!

When I can smell myself. LOL. And when the neighbor will not stand too close to chat. I know then it's time for a shower.

LOL... well, I don't wear an apron, but I should... so I judge is by when my butt is covered because that is where I wipe my hands. If I'm outside, my butt is covered in dirt... if I'm baking, then it's flour, if I'm painting, it's paint... lol etc....

I'm usually so tired by the time I go to bed.. my legs and feet hurt, hubby and I dump the grass and dirt from our shoes, get a shower and then we sit at the computer and update website, etc for a couple more hours.

Too many jobs... not enough hours!!! LOL

Isn't life grand! Love the farmgirl life!!

When I feel that "good" sort of tired, not just being kinda tired from stayin up late. The type of tired that tells you that you did a good amount of work & movin around-and I always sleep so much better havin that sort of tired!

When I woke up this morning, I felt like I was hit by a truck. I was out weeding and tending the garden from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm yesterday! It was the first day in two weeks without a storm, so I had to make hay while the sun shined. I call it my MaryJaneFonda excercise routine!
