Anyone interested in a swapping some embroidered tea towels? I would love to stitch some up for someone. There are a couple of ways it has been done. One way is that it's a tea towel tour, you have one towel and it goes around to several people or you have a partner and you send to them.

I would like to do this too.

I am interested, though I will be in Haiti June 25- July 11th. Getting ready and getting back will be very busy! What would the deadline be? I'll wait for details before deciding. I usuallly like to tailor mine to the person receiving, but just making something nice would allow me to get started sooner. Mary LD

I love that there is so much interest! There will definitely be time for everyone to craft. I'm thinking a month-cause you know that life sometimes has a way of keeping us from stitching. I'm hoping I can work on details this weekend and by Monday have them posted for everyone.

I would like to be involved in this also. I have no time or talent to embroider but...vintage and antique tea towels I can do. Is that appropriate?

Help please. What are the measurements of a tea towel? Can the stitches be back stitch or straight stitch? Obviously I have never done these, so I would appriciate your help. Thanks Debbie |

Hi Debbie! I'm not sure of the exact measurements of a tea towel. Does anyone know? I usually buy mine from Aunt Martha or a craft store or even places like Target. The stitches could be anything you want. If you wanted to do an applique, that would be awesome too. I say if it feels good to ya-stitch it up! :)

I always thought of tea towels as gussied up kitchen towels. Sort of like those embellished bath towels with so much fringe and such that you just KNOW they are for show only and are to never be used, a tea towel sort of looks pretty and doesn't really get used. But I do not think the actual definition is any different than that for a kitchen towel.
