Hello Ladies, Many years ago someone gave me a recipe for German Dump Cake. I lost track of both the recipe and the woman who gave it to me !This was the most wonderful cake ! Okay it may have been just on the high calorie side, it was almost sinful ! I have done internet searches and have found nothing even close. It had fruit, sweetened condensed milk and coconut (i think) but Thats about all I remember I do remember that you just kind of dumped everything into the bowl. Anyone ever heard of this recipe?? Here is a cake recipe we called Upside Down German Chocolate Cake. It is sooooo good and rich. 1 c. coconut 1 c. chopped walnuts 1 german chocolate cake mix 1 1/4 c water 1/3 c oil 3 eggs 3 1/2 c. powdered sugar 1/2 c. melted oleo or butter 1 8 0z. cream cheese softened Grease 9x13 pan. Sprinkle coconut and nuts in bottom of pan. Mix cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Spread in pan. Mix powdered sugar, oleo, and cream cheese. Spoon evenly over batter. Leave about 1" around the edge of pan. Bake 375 degrees for 40-50 minutes. This is worth making. It is not a pretty cake, but it is good!!!! Never much left the next day. |

This is probably different than what you're talking about, but it's called simply DUMP CAKE and it is yummy.
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling . . . I have also used peach, or apple. I have also used my own fruit, most especially blackberries & just added sugar and a bit of cornstarc 1 box yellow cake mix (or white) 2 sticks margarine or butter. 1 c. chopped nuts or shredded coconut (optional) or 1/2 c. of each
Pour pineapple (juice and all) and pie filling into 9 x 13 baking pan. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the top . . do NOT stir Slice margarine evenly over the top. Sprinkle nuts and/or coconut over top. Bake until golden brown and cake mix is done. Best served warm with ice cream!!
It's fast, easy . . and Yummy!!! CJ

I made the one with the yellow cake mix and TWO STICKS OF BUTTER! Floyd loved it and I had everything needed in the cabinets. Of course neither one of us is supposed to be eating so much sugar, but boy was it good! |
