I'm sure this topic is already addressed but I feel so badly, I don't have the patience to search. I've been on 2 inhalers for weeks now. Two 26-hour flights in 3 weeks have taken their toll on my poor lungs. I really object to medications (surely I get enough chemicals in my body on a daily basis without breathing them in) and one of the inhalers is a steroid.
What else can I do?

Ashma is tough. I've found that exercising (inside on a treadmill) and trying to get my lungs as fit as possible helps me. But I would talk to an MD. and find out what he/she recommends. If you don't like their answer, see a pulmonologist.
good luck!

Try swimming you start to help heal your lungs and the exercising will help and the moisture is a plus too.

I have severe asthma and find that moisture helps and living in an area were there is less pollution is helpful in regulating how much medication I have to take.

Drink a tbsp of Braggs ACV in a cup of water two to three times a day. It helps me and I only use my inhaler for "resuce" situations now.

Mom used to make us take horehound tea. Taste horrible but helped. My daughter drinks lots of lemon water and doesnt seem to need the inhaler as often
