I am in a neighborhood book club that meets once a month. I haven't been too active the past year, but now it is my turn to host. We are reading The Blind Side right now. We have recently read The Help. They stay pretty current. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I just finished "Her Fearful Symmetry" by Audrey Neffennegger (no idea how to spell her last name) and it was wonderful! She wrote "The Time Travelers Wife", also.

How about Shanghai Girls by Lisa See (I think) or Half-broke Horses by Jeannette Walls?

"One Thousand White Women, The Journals of May Dodd" by Jim Fergus was an interesting book. it is fiction but you want to believe the characters are real and that women during the move west were strong/determined. It is a reading group gold book - includes questions in the back. Barbara

I recently finished The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman, a novel-like fascinating read based on the true lives of a zookeeping family in Poland during of WWII. Very inspiring, heartbreaking, and hopeful at once.

I recently read: The Things We Do for Love by Kristin Hannah. I've noticed she has several books on store shelves. It actually has a reader's guide in the back for reading groups which includes questions to discuss.
