I am an admitted clutterbug (who is now on clutter detox, but anyway). It is difficult for me to throw away 'Good Stuff', or things that I think I might be able to use. Anyway, I had an old worn out pair of flip flops that I thought SURELY there was something I could do with them, other than throwing them in the trash.
I found a use!
I have several small holes in my chicken coop where my husband just installed a new ventilation window. The building is made out of corrugated tin, so there are little holes wherever the tin 'dips'. I cut up that flip flop into 1.5"-2" squares and crammed a piece as tightly as possible into the holes, using my scissors. No more holes! No need to use that spray foam stuff! No snakes!
I was sure to put the cut up flip flops where the hens couldn't peck at them.

Great idea! FG are sure an innovative bunch.
I use them to print fabric and paper. The bottoms of flip flops all have super cool designs and with paint, inks or dye rolled on them they make wonderful designs. |
