I have 15 Munstead lavender plants that I "hard" pruned this morning. This will be their 4th summer season. Last year I was able to harvest twice and the plants were lovely---a little close to each other but the harvest was grand. This spring the were looking pretty beat up after our harsh winter; splayed out and a lot of tough looking growth with just a minimal amount of green at the end of the branches.

Anyone else grow Munstead?
Was I too zealous in my pruning?

I think as long as you left some leaves and/or didn't disturb the root system you should be okay provided they have enough energy stored in their roots to put out new growth. you should see new growth in about 2 weeks but if not they might of died.
