Okay, I need a lot of help! I have a little area of garden that is all ready to be planted. I plan on buying the started plants from our farmers' market. I plan on putting in a few herbs, some peppers, and maybe a few cucumbers. When is the best time to plant? I'm pretty sure that we're done frosting, though it is a little on the chilly side. Please help! God's Blessings, Megan aka Loretta Rae

Megan, I am in Wisconsin too and I only put seeds in for the colder weather crops so far. I planted lettuce, spinach, beets, turnips and some peas. My peppers, broccoli, tomatoes and cabbage are started in doors and don't go out till the end of May. Our last frost date is around the 15th of May. If you have plants instead of seeds, you need to put them outside for a few hours a day and increase the time daily to harden them out before planting. I hope this helps!

Don't be in a rush. It is alot of work covering and uncovering plants all the time. Look at your forecast, and probley wait till late in the month to put those plants out.

Thanks everyone! I think I might wait until Memorial Day weekend. That's usually when it starts to be in the 60's on a regular basis. Thanks for your input! God's Blessings, Megan aka Loretta Rae
