My hubby asked me last night what I wanted for Mother's Day. I told him the new magazine. He looked at me like I was crazy -- he can't believe that he's getting off so cheap!

What would you all like to have for Mom's Day?

MMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmm...I would absolutley LOVE a gift certificate for a maternity massage! AND a drawing of a "hand-turkey" from my 2-yr-old that he loves to do.....

Okay, AND one little glass of spectacular champagne with one little bite of dark chocolate.

XOXO, Libbie

Oh man... I am with Libbie, I want a massage! Since I missed the first Utahfarmgirl lunch, we should make the next outing a massage trip! I was kidding when I wrote to Patricia about it, but the more I think about it, the better it sounds. We could all go to the UCMT school and get the 2 for 1 massages and then have lunch! All you rural girls could come up to the city!

A day off from all the "motherly duties" would be good too! Oh, and a nap!

Hey, Kate! Call me and we'll plan our massage outing - maybe go for lunch at the Beahive Tearoom downtown. It's fabulous! When are they doing the 2-4-one again? I'm supposed to be on a list but haven't heard anything. I'm going to Conn. from May 24 to June 1. It'd be great to have Jenny and Libbie come, too, if possible. Call me, daughter!

Love,
Patricia

For Mother's Day, I'd love for all the mothers in the world to not have to worry about their children - no famine, no AIDS, no drug culture, no genocide. Oh, and I'd also love a gift certificate for fabric or books or a box of Hatch's chocolates! Woo hoo!

In today's For Better or Worse cartoon, the grandma says she just loves having the little ones in the kitchen because it makes her feel like a mom again. So, I spent a lot of time in the kitchen today, and made a meal for my family, and had two little granddaughters in the house, and it is true, the best gift for Mother's Day for me was not being pampered, but being able to be a mom with a houseful for the day.

Those of you who have a houseful all the time, see how things will change when you have an empty nest? :)

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful farmgirls.

Oh, and my daughter absolutely loved her Farmgirl tote bag with the baking flour mix and magazine inside!!!! She wants to mill her own flour, and loves to bake bread, so I was happy she liked the MJF gift.

Peace

I got a 5:30 wake up call from my husband who wanted to be the first to say Happy Mother's Day! He's away at work, and I really didnt think he'd remember. He never ceases to surprise me. He just knew I'd already be up but for once I actually was sleeping in...but it was okay. I dont mind at all when his is the first voice I hear for the day.

The little ones (still at home 17, 14, and 10) got me the cutest rooster in the whole wide world...he's ceramic, very whimsical and holds a bucket of chalk and his belly is a chalk board...they know I LOVE chickens, buckets and chalkboards...so it was PERFECT! My oldest son called and said he has a book for me - you can always count on a good book from Z (lives 4 hours away and had to work)! Oldest daughter and her husband and middle son and his fiance came and we all went to my mom's for a meal...with them they brought two HUGE ferns for my front porch! All of the older kids live out of town and mom and I didnt want to really "cook" on Mother's Day so we bought chicken and cooked fresh veggies that I had picked up at the farmer's market on Saturday. My mom bought me a beautiful blouse to match a brown prairie skirt I have. I bought her a stack of paperbacks she has been wanting. We all had a wonderful day. PLUS we got a much needed rain early in the morning! As much as I have to do between now and my surgery, I actually took the day off, relaxed, visited, napped and it was great!

more than anything .. i wanted to see my daughter (she lives in toledo, ohio and is pregnant (half-way there) .. she surprized me by driving ALL NIGHT to arrive at about 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning. oh what glorious bliss .. i got to hug and squeeze my grandson and to 'pat her baby belly' .. felt the baby kick for the first time. xo
