Time for the KY Derby. Do any of you watch the KY Derby? Lots of people get excited at Derby Time. Even though I live 45 minutes away I have never been. I do watch it on TV sometimes. And for fun pick a horse. Sometimes I even guess right. But I've never bet on one, and have no idea how. The horses are beautiful and I do like watching them.

I usually watch the Derby but I might miss it today. I was picking no. 10 to win but they say the track is going to be very muddy so who knows? I have to go to a memorial service but I hope to be back in time to see it.

I waited until I saw who Calvin Borel was riding & picked that horse. You would think by now the other jockeys would figure out how to keep him off of the fence. He is largely unbeatable once he gets on the fence.
Of course, what do I know
But he is quite a talented jockey.
& I love the hats too!

That's exactly what I said Lisa, they left him wide open. I couldn't believe it.

You would think after 4 or 5 times of seeing the same result, that the other jockeys would try to keep him away. But, then again, I am not a jockey & do not know how easy that is; the starting gate plays an integral part in overall strategy as well; I am just a fat spectator!
But, that being said..I think it is safe to say that Calvin knows the Churchill Downs track...QUITE WELL.
Plus, he is fun to watch.
I was kinda rooting for Nobles Promise, but felt in my heart that Calvn would pull it out.
Hope for a Triple Crown.. Hubby always gets so excited about the prospect; that is worth its weight in gold.
The horses are so stupendous; that is what lures me in year after year.
