I am really envious of all the farmgirls who are going on the Laura Ingalls Wilder trip this summer, but it's just not in the cards for me. I am a 4th grade teacher, and I was thinking of starting an after school Little House book club next. We could read one book a month and do projects that go along with the books, maybe even do merit badges!

What a cool idea Amy - I love the Little House books, I reread them about every other year or so. I wish I could go on the tour this summer too, but not right now. I did get to go to Pepin, Wisconsin, Walnut Grove, and DeSmet the summer I was ten - I was staying the summer with my grandparents in the twin cities and they took me - it was really cool Amy Grace

That would have been a dream trip for the 10 year old me! I was really into this series at that age. You were very lucky! Great memories!

I love Little House Books, I have a set that I read to my boys. They love "Farmer Boy" and learning about the farm Almanzo grew up. I actually grew up south of Walnut Grove Minnesota and seen the pageant, what fun that was. Sign me up for the reading assignments, crafts and cooking!!!

Hi Jenny from Grand Marais! Are you going to be able to go on part of the Laura Ingalls Wilder tour in June? We'd love to see you, even if it was just in Walnut Grove!

What a wonderful idea. I love Laura Ingalls, and am planning on sharing the books with my daughter this summer. I devoured them as a child! I'd read and reread them over and over. Keep us posted, I might want to do this.
