Just picked her up today. She in such good condition on the inside! I'm so excited! A new coat of paint on the outside and she will be a vision! She is a 1962 Fan. I will post some interior pics later when I get home. Squeel!!! She's all ready for memories with this family of 5!

Yeah! So glad you got it, all the prayers must have helped. I want one too! We have been looking, so far the one we found was made into an ice fishing shanty, they sort of ruined it.

If I may ask, what does a camper in decent shape like yours cost approximately?

Congratulations! You will have soo much fun with your family in that camper! We have a 1969 Serro Scotty Highlander - it's so much fun and they really draw attention! Our's is only 15 feet -big enough for the 2 of us and our small dogs/
ENJOY!

I got this one for a steal, I think. It was $1500. I've seen some in icky condition go for more. Here are some interior pics. They're not great because I took them with Trent's iphone.

Ruth, I missed your comment earlier as I think you were posting the same time I posted pics. Ours is about 16 feet I think. It is definitely the perfect size for us right now and we are so excited about the memories that will be made! We got quite a lot of looks yesterday while driving it home, but I'm not sure if it was because of the vintage camper or the fact that we were driving 45-50 mph on a county road because the wind was awful yesterday (the worst wind I've seen yet this year - perfect for hauling a camper, right?) LOL

I think once we get her outside painted (hopefully really soon) she will definitely turn heads.

Anyone have any tips on repainting a camper? Kinds of paint to use and how to apply it and such?

Hi, There is a site for Serro Scotty and other vintage owners that will be glad to help you with the painting issue. The inside looks fantastic! I didn't see any water damage and that is a big plus. I'm so excited for ya'll. You will have so much fun. Go to Misty River Campground site, it's in Walland,TN. They have a vintage camper rally and you can see some photo's of many different kinds of campers. The other site is: serro scotty enthusiast - people will be glad to help you with any questions you might have. A great bunch of people own vintage campers - welcome to the club!

Shelia, it's got a double bed in the front and rear, so I guess that would sleep 4 tightly and then there are fittings on the walls above the bed area in the back where you can put an army cot in.

Yeah Grace, I don't know about the curtains or the cushion covers. I'm not really diggin them LOL! The camper has been at my inlaws' house all week and I've been having withdrawals. I want to get inside it and start decorating and such. But we picked it up without any light hook-ups, so we couldn't drive it all the way home because it was getting dark. We're going back up there for a family birthday party tomorrow and we bought the wiring for the lights and we will officially bring her home. I told hubby that we need to give her a name and he says he wants to wait until we decide how we're going to fix it up. I saw someone else name their Fan camper "Fannie" and I thought that was cute. Maybe a farmgirl name like Fannie Mae or something like that.

WOW what a find! Congratulations!
I just love my little trailer, Grace is right it can be addicting. I'm looking for a second one to do up with a different theme. When I'm out antique shopping I'm always looking for "glamper" items.

Grace, We have a 1969 Scotty HiLander. I did the inside in Scotty Dog's (not very creative I know) But we love it. All red, white and black (inside) Scotty turquoise and white outside. There is going to be a Serro Scotty Rally @ Misty River Campground in Walland, TN in July - you should come!

Kerry, Serro Scotty is the brand of a camper. They have JUST started making them again, but most of them, like ours are OLD! Anyway, there is a Serro Scotty Enthusiast group and they are having a rally in Walland, TN where people bring their Scotty campers and everyone camps and has a wonderful time! They are having just a vintage camper rally this weekend at Misty River Campground in Walland, TN. We are probably going to ride over for the day, but will not be camping this time. We camped at both the Vintage rallies last year and had a great time. Met many wonderful folks from all over the country!
Where are you in TN? If it's nice Saturday and you have nothing better to do, why don't you take a ride over. Walland is next to Townsend, TN not far from Maryville.
Hugs, Ruth

Hi Ruth,
Thank you for the invite to the rally, it sounds like so much fun. Unfortunately I wont be able to make it, thank you though. I had to look up where Walland is located... and Epworth. I was born and raised in northwest GA. Now we are located about an hour from Nashville. I bet it is so beautiful being so close to the Chattahoochie National Forest. Blue Ridge is one of my favorite towns!
