I hve my mother's apron & still use it! How many of you have a family apron? I remember wearing it when I was little to help in the kitchen & when she was going to get rid of it I claimed it! It is now getting a bit threadbare but I won't get rid of it-it holds toooooooooo many memories!

I have several rather "threadbare" aprons from both my mom and my grandma - and I still use and treasure them!

I have a couple - one of those 60's aprons with sleeves that was my grandma's, very orange and brown, I don't wear it because it doesn't fit me. I just was given an apron that was handmade by my other grandma's Aunt Mattie - it is beautiful, linen and hand-embroidered. I probably won't wear it either, but I am going to make a pattern from it.

Hi: My mil died at 86 l0 years ago and I have the apron she made in her home ec class in the 20ies. It's a treasure. I collect aprons and do programs about them. I grew up wearing aprons and thanks to Mary Jane we all are! Bonnie

This makes me want to see if my mom still has any aprons around. She use to wear them all the time.
I loves seeing aprons making a come-back don't you? And I really love the idea of keeping Family
Heirloom Aprons. I am going to call my mom right now and see if she still has one or two around.
Thanks for the great idea girlfriends!

I have a christmas apron my Great-Aunt embroideried for me gave me about 30 years ago. I wear it every year. I hunted everywhere for the pattern that my grandma used for what we called cobblers aprons. I could see the pattern in my head, but couldn't find it on any of the vintage sites. About a year later I was talking to my Aunt in Ohio and the subject came up. She not only had the pattern...she had 2! So she sent it to me. It's not fancy at all,but I love it because it says home to me. :-)

I have some of my collection shown on my blog. It is hanging on the clothesline. I just love the look of all of them flapping in the breeze.

I have always wanted an apron. My mama gave all hers away and forgot about asking me. She felt so bad. This friend of hers collects them and she said she just did without thougth. But still someone is using them.

I got my Mom to send me her last apron, it is a Christmas Apron that my Aunt embroidered for her.
It is beautiful...so it is like getting an Apron from both of them. Then, my MIL gave me two Aprons,
one is made out of blue jeans and lace and one is an Apron that the little Mammasons (?) wear in Japan.
My In-Laws were stationed there in the 1960's. Then tonight my husband bought me the cutest Little Red Bib-
Apron with Black Polka-Dots and Black Lace. It looks Sexy and I love it! I wore it to cook in tonight (just dinner girls...just dinner!) and to pick my first thing from my garden tonight. "Parsley" (hey, it's something!) With all the rain we have had my garden art is the only thing that looks good out there! And now
me in my little sexy apron. LOL This is my very first Apron and I love it!!!

Blessings,
~Peggy

Hi, I have an apron that I was given as a child. As it no longer fits, I have it pinned to the wall of my sewing room. I also have the apron of my best friend's mother. My best friend gave it to me when her mom died; my friend doesn't wear aprons. I took the apron and made a pattern from it, so I could keep it going. I've made three for me and made three for the local YWCA for the women who live there. These are full aprons with pockets -- not very fancy but cute when done in wild fabrics. Suzanne

I have about four of my mom's aprons, but my favorite is a red bib apron that still has a gravy stain that would not wash out, from a family thanksgiving dinner. I wear two of mom's, even wore one when I got to meet MaryJane several years ago. And I gave one to my daughter. She cooks in it all the time!

I have 3 or 4 of my grandmother's aprons and a few of my mom's. Mom didn't wear them much after awhile but I remember her wearing them when I was very young.
