I have always wanted to grow my own raspberries. Does it take a long time to establish and also 1-year old canes to start with?

Guerney's is offering 3- 1 year old canes for 7.99 plus shipping. Is that a good price?

Any information would be greatly appreciated girls!

Thank you.

Do you know anyone who has raspberries? I got all of mine from starts from neighbors and friends. They are always putting out new shoots underground so they make volunteers all over the place. They are easy to grow. Make sure you give them some support. I grow mine along a fence and tie them up to the fence. Make sure they get enough water when blooming or they won't set fruit. The new canes that grow this year will put on fruit next year and the old cane will die out. Every spring I go through the row and cut out the dead wood and tie up the new canes. I don't know whether that is a good price or not. The blackberries that I got from Gurney's have done really well as have the strawberries.

Blessings, Sheri

Hey Melody, where in MN do you live? If it is anywhere near Faribault and you'd be up for a drive PM me. We have just dug out a bunch of raspberries, both red and yellow and some are sitting in the basement waiting for us to find them a new home. There are lots of other little ones that have multiplied in the bed too.
