Ya know. You all have just given me an idea!! Nan wants to get her etsy site more noticed and I am sure that all of us FG business gals want the same thing. Karla was so nice to post Nan's info so I'm thinking of dedicating a page at my blog to a list of FG websites and a description what they sell. Kind of a clearinghouse of shopping sites. What do you think? Would you want to be included?

Just did. BTW, I like your blog. I like to make jams. Yummy. In a couple of months, I will be making a lot of grape jelly. The grapes are too small and have seeds, so I just make jelly.

I sell on Etsy and Ebay things I make as well as other treasures. I owned an antique shop for many years and closed it down in 2006 when I moved to where I currently live. I still have boxes of smalls etc that I put on Etsy and Ebay, love to sell fabric and books as well.
Since I can no longer work outside of my home due to OsteoArthritis, especially in both my knees, this is perfect for me, keeps me busy and brings a little extra money into the house. I love what I do as I can go junking/antiquing and yard selling as much as I want, and I love that!

Debbie

Sharon, I think what I'll do is start another thread just devoted to getting participants and that way this one will stay on topic.

Right now I am helping my husband with his real estate business, but as everyone knows that with this economy it isn't doing very well. But he has been doing this for many years so we are hanging in there. I love to do crafts and would love to make some and sell but not sure when or if that will happen. We live in such a very small town that I'm not sure where I would sell them at. I am hoping that maybe during the towns craft fair I can setup a small booth. I wish that our garden had done better this year because I would have love to sell some veggies. I know how people love them. I hope to put up pear this year...maybe if the trees put off enough pears. Oh and one of my favorite things to make is my rustic wheat bread...mmmm...now that sounds like a good idea if I could just find a place to sell them...anyway...I will keep looking and dreaming...everyone have a great day...Penny

I am still struggling along trying to find ways to make up some income that has been lost due to hours cut-not having the best luck at it though! I was selling 20 dozen eggs a week & that helped but last week n this heat I lost 18 chicken so now that has been cut drastically! We have been under almost drought conditions so I too am not going to be able to sell excess garden produce like I had hoped! I am hoping to at least get enough for us-I know boo hoo! It seems like there are a lot of struggling people right now! Thanks for letting me vent!

I am loving my business! A year ago we bought an old abandoned 113 year old farmhouse on 10 acres. It is nestled in wheatfields and I think the setting is gorgeous! The house needs a lot of work, but the biggest blessing is the large heated shop. Now I am able to do antique sales on my property and re-do primitive furniture whenever I want . . . even in my jammies! LOL! I truly love the life and business God has given me. For more info. check out my blog at http://pastblessings.blogspot.com.

There are some really inspirational women in this thread!

I teach flute and piano out of my home. It lets me bring in a little while still making me able to homeschool our boys. My heart is really in performing, but gigs are few and far between. Maybe only 3 or 4 times a year.

Just started my own blog, and hoping to start filling an etsy store pretty soon with some Frankoma pottery I collected for a while and then some crafted items I make (knit and crochet, maybe some sewing and quilting). Also, had a soap making business for a while when my kids were smaller. It grew to a point that I had to choose if I would be a business or a stay at home mom. That was an easy decision. Now, they are bigger, and I can focus on trying to grow a business (and a lot more slowly and practically than last time).

Wife of terrific hubby and mom to 2 kiddos, 2 bunnies, 2 geriatric goldfish, and the best dog in the world!

It's exciting to see all the girls with businesses!

I have a product line that includes soap, soy candles, room & linen sprays, unscented products, products for men, kids, gardeners, natural dog products, lip balms, salves, body sprays, and more. I make everything myself.

I also enjoy fixing vintage sewing machines and selling them.

I work full-time at the local nursing home as a CNA (certified nursing assistant)(40 hours a week), work 15 hours every other weekend at the local gas station chain, and on the opposite weekend I work 5 1/2 hours on Saturday morning at the local Bakery. I also am starting to get my etsy store up and running (Simply Home Creations).

hi everyone--this is a fabulous thread--what a wonderful, hard working creative group! i do sort of two jobs--i operate a very small plant nursery that specializes in late season flowering plants. we have lots of display gardens and even a garden train (dh's department). i also breed daylilies concentrating on late flowering varieties that extend the daylily season into sept. some years i sell seeds on the big daylily auction--it kind of depends on whether i have crosses that i think will be interesting to anyone other than me.
in the winter i paint--i design a few Christmas cards each year for people (mostly my dog friends) and i paint birds on slates and other surfaces. chris

not a boy--long story
