Both my little darlings (6 and 7 years old) are down with chicken pox.

We just got chickens.

"Mom, does getting chickens mean you get chicken pox?"

I can see how they could be confused. ;)

I'm preparing to shell out lots of oatmeal/baking soda baths and Mama love!!!

That is so cute. It reminds me of something one of my granddaughters said one day. My granddaughter was eating a piece of chocolate candy one day and it had a nut in it. She asked her mom if she could plant the nut and grow a chocolate tree.

LOL Amy! I had the chicken pox when I was pregnant with my youngest. Eeewwww it was miserable. But I found a way to scratch without getting all tore open and scarred up. You know those knit gloves they carry at walmart, the real cheap ones? They come in two sets for a buck or two? Anyhoo.. I just rubbed over my pox gently, it was enough to relieve the itch but didn't do any damage. Just a little thought if they get to scratching too bad. Hope they feel better soon.

LOL Shirley - that is adorable!

Melanie - thanks for the tip about the knit glove. I'll keep that in mind if the itching gets too intense!

Ah, that's so cute. I just love what comes out of a kids mouth. They are so funny. At least they'll both get it over with now, Amy.

The boys are hilarious. I told them "No school today" and they are sacked out watching Star Wars. My youngest said "You know, Mom, I don't think this chicken pox thing is too bad. I'm a little itchy. But the annoying thing is when your mom asks you 100 times a day to lift up your shirt so she can check your spots." I laughed so hard. :)

My sons got them 1 year apart on halloween. So I took a bag with me and told everyone my son was home with the chicken pox's. The next year I had to do the same thing for my other son. Only a few people said I heard that last year, thank God they were my friends and they knew it was true.

My youngest was fine when I took him over to my moms at 5am. When I came home from work and saw him I cried. He had them all over his body, face & even the bottoms of his feet. He said. Thank-you mom for crying, gramma just keeps laughing at me.

I can see where your children would believe they came from chickens, That is a memory you & they will cherish. (believe it or not.)

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

Well, it makes perfect sense to me...new chickens and then comes the pox.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

EWWWWW! I VIVIDLY recall the misery of chicken pox! Poor little guys.I hope that it goes quickly for them. I went out in the sun and relapsed and had the darned things for nearly two months. Yuck! But kid thought is adorable! I love the little leaps of kid logic
Shirley, if I could plant nuts and get chocolate trees, I'd be out there plantin' away! LOL

*Oh my*!!! Amy, darlin', that's no fun! You poor thing, but it is so funny that they think they got it from the chickens...I remember having it, I was five, and it was miserable. At least they both have it. Hugs to all three of you...and tell Mr. Roo hello.
