I have an opportunity to get for free as much dried chicken poo as I can manage--I have never used this form of manure in my garden beds and was wondering if anyone else uses this?

I need some advice ladies...

Thank you!

Melody, I am not for certain but I think it's ok to use the dried chicken manure but I would not use alot of it. Spread it real good and til it in better. Is it from chicken houses? We have a bunch around here and they are always spreading it on all the fields. It sure does green them up real fast. But I would use it sparingly.

I use manure from my chickens, goats and cows here. It is all the fertilizer I use. Ya gotta be careful with the cow though. I had a couple dump truck loads put on my gardens and I got pig weed all over. I did not have it before the cow manure. I hate that evil weed.

Chicken manure is good for your gardens, just let it age for awhile first and it will really make a nice differance for you.

Too much chicken manure and you will get all growth, no producing. That is what my dad always said anyways.

You don't want it to fresh or it will burn your plants-chicken manure has a lot of amonia in it. If it has set out & dried I would think that it would be ok. Maybe just use it as a side dress for now & see if it helps.

Let it age 1 year before using or you will burn your plants. Its supposed to be really good after that though.
