Hello!
I made my cheese press from this tutorial, and it ended up costing me around 25$ to make (I even had to buy the drill bits.)

http://fiascofarm.com/dairy/cheesepress.html

Once I got started it was easy to get going, between a saw and the nice guy at home depot cutting the right sizes for me I was a happy camper. But right now it actually houses all my chips and salty snacks, it also makes a very functional shelf when not in use

Hey Michele! There is a cast iron lard press at one of my local antique stores. I had been thinking of trying it out to see if it would work for cheese, the set up is almost exactly the same. I think it was $75 if you are interested.

Otherwise, I was thinking of using the tutorial to make my own from my cheese making book.
