I had the most deliteful late afternoon visit with fellow farmgirl Elizabeth aka prairie_princess yesterday. She was everything I thought a farmgirl should be, gracious, cute as a button, warm, and generous. She showed me her charming little 1916 cottage that she and her DH have been fixing up. We chatted over tea and a sweet bread she made herself. This was the first time we had met but I feel like I've known her for a long time.

What is your story of the first time you met a fellow farm girl?

Toto, we're not in Kansas any more!

I actually met the farmgirl first. I met Nancy G. who's daughter is married to my husband's best friend. We met at her daughters party and she kept talking about all these wonderful farmgirls, then she gave me the website and here I am.

Nancy is also very cute, very talented and I love her home so warm & inviting. We went thrift store shopping together this morning. Something we both enjoy.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

I haven't met any farmgirls yet, but I am super excited about our Michigan Farmgirls meetup in April! I get to meet several all at once!

I haven't met anyone in real life yet, but I would love to. Someday in the future I'm sure. There are a few gals I met on this forum I talk to regularly via email or letters who I feel like I've known forever!!

Yes, Elizabeth and I have been trading emails for a couple of weeks now and that I think has helped in knowing each other before we met. Siobhan, that should be fun to meet a whole group of farmgirl. So far I think we are the only two around these parts, but I've met several woman with these same common interests so who know, maybe we'll spread the word about MJ's and get a chapter started here.

I haven't met anyone either. Actually, the closest one I have talked to is about 3+ hrs. away. I so wish these girls I have told about this forum would be more interested:)

I've loved meeting fellow farmgirls and I've met them mostly at Miss Wilma's doings! There's nothing like getting together and enjoying each other's company. What a great bunch of ladies here!

Audrey, sorry it's been awhile since I've checked up on MJF forums... I feel the same way about you! I was just trying to write you an e-mail, but it froze up on me... grrr! DH had asked me last night "Isn't it awkward hanging around people you don't know?" I thought about it... I told him it doesn't feel one bit like we don't know each other! I don't know if it's because we were writing each other beforehand, or who knows, it's just that farmgirl chemistry! Had SO much fun yesterday antiquing... I finally found my match for taking a long time to scour the antiques! I can't wait for more farmgirl outings... I swear we have enough ideas of things to do to last us for the next month! I'm so glad we have been able to meet and I keep my fingers crossed we will be able to be in the same area for a LONG time to come! And hopefully we can poke and prod some of the local "closet" farmgirls to get out in the open and do some fun, crafty things together, maybe get a MJF group together... here's hoping!
