Yay! So, what does one do with the very first egg? Is there a certain tradition? I feel like somehow that little egg should be celebrated in a special way.

Congrats! Those little eggs are so precious. It feels like a little gift that you don't want to open.
My kids like to match the egg to the hen. They can tell by the shape or size or color. When they are gathering eggs they'll say, "This one is from Speckles. This one is from Starry." The little eggs are always easy to match to their layer.
One of the best compliments from one of my daughters: "Moma, you smell good...like dirt."
