YAY! My seeds are starting to come up in my greenhouse, along with the plants I've kept in the house. I love this time of year. It's so exciting to see the seeds "waking up!"

PS. Do you ladies use chicken manure in your gardens? I was wondering how you did that. Mash it up? Mix it with water?

Starbucks and sushi to green fried tomatoes and corn pudding-I wouldn't change it for the world.

Megan, isn't it great to see those seeds pop up? O love to see them. I use chicken manure that's older and has been kind of composted and mulched up by the chickens. You do not want to use fresh chicken poop. It will burn the plants. Always use older manure. I will rake it all up and put it in the corner for awhile then use it. Cow poop, too. But goat or rabbit you can use fresh. I alwys put a little handful in the bottoms of the holes and scratch it around before I put a plant in. That's all I use. Then later I'll throw some manure around the plant as it grows and water in well.

Hi Megan:
Our seeds are sprouting and in the garden! It was so nice to be able to plant them in the soil. We did have to put some thing around the plants because I have four outside cats. They think the raised beds are extra large litter boxes. LOL. Our sunflower plants are really growing tall. Have fun in your plant and garden beds.

Everything is finally blooming! I've got all my squashes sprouting, my beans, tomatoes, peppers, herbs, flowers, melons, potatoes, strawberries...the list goes on and on.....I can't wait! My DH tilled up my garden for me, in a better spot than last time. He's going to grow a few rows of peppers and tomatoes himself to grow and sell at the auction. We have a craft & herb show here in May, so I think I'll take some of my seedlings there to sell.

I do a garden walk-around every morning, looking for sprouts. I found some spinach and mustard sprouting yesterday. I'm still waiting to see the peas and carrots peeking out of the ground.

Isn't it a miracle???!!! You stick a dead looking seed in some soil and up pops a plant! I have tomatoes, peppers, some herbs and flowers in the greenhouse and a walk thru of the kitchen garden showed some radishes coming up and in the big garden the onions are coming up too! This is my favorite time of year! The Earth is waking up!
